Fixing my contour svt that was hit in the rear. Sorry not a Subaru yet, but soon......if you need to move this thread to the LAME section for metioning a f.o.r.d. please do  But, I thought this section would apply.

    I'm stuck on my trunk.

    I have 2 options.

Trunk is currently down to sheet metal....I want to build it back up, should I come with bondo on the metal? Or prime first, then apply bondo?

Think I want to apply it directly on the metal right?

Vehicle has a couple lil' hail marks from last year that I'd like to smooth out when we got hit pretty bad.

I still can't believe Home Depot sells bondo, fiberglass mix, hardener, I wouldn't have guessed.

pics before you bondo, how bad is the damage?

'regular" contour trunks should be a direct fit in the SVT generation countours, you would just need to redrill for the spoiler and paint.

go to u pull in E bethel or rosemount and you should beable to snag a trunk lid for pretty cheep.

    my 2 cents

well i would get some duraglass from evercoat you can apply that to metal and up to 1 inch build then go over that with some glazing putty to cover up any pin holes. then epoxy primer all that then you can paint...

    Hey thanks guys,

ok ill apply direct to metal then thanks mix,

ya, I got this trunk from johns auto for like 40 bucks regular contour trunk. I guess they all fit, its the tails that are different from the other gens, but those will swap too. I dont have a spoiler yay. Im kinda a spoilerless type of person.

it was painted 3 times before, so i stripped the top down to metal and just gonna bondo the whole top and come with a disc sander.

Then im gonna go to napa on 280 and kasota and get some paint-match spray paint aerosol to make it easy, I dont have alot of work to do on the body.

Pics up later when I can find my camera. arg....where the hell is it.
