My Forester has the airbag light on but then it turns off about every other drive. I have found two solutions for this online: 1) Service Bulletin 17-07-04 regarding trouble codes 41 or 42 caused by surface oxidation on the contacts of the connectors of the SRS airbag connectors under the front seats and 2) blown fuse. I haven't really taken the time to check my fuse box but I have called White Bear Subaru and they won't do it without charging $116 to diagnose the issue because they found no recalls with the VIN.

Has anyone has encountered this issue before and resolved it?

Just the air bag light? Another cause could be the clock spring, the wires that rotate with the wheel.
If it's that the horn and cruise control might get effected too.

The horn and cruise still works so that could be checked off.
