Well it didn't look like there were any alignment/suspension threads made today for me to hijack so I had to start my own...

I have an appointment with Jeff on Friday and am looking for some input. This is for an 02 WRX Wagon.

    Uses are:
DD - I live in the twisties of WI and like to drive sporty, however bad I am at it.
Road Trips - lotsa short 50-350 milers and some big ones this summer.
Gravel - not every day but often. And hard to ignore for the fun factor.
I want the tires to last, but I can also rotate them frequently (the car came with a jack and lug wrench. And I have a few stands and other tools).

    Set up:
    02 WRX Wagon stock except:
    Tokico D-Specs going in Thursday
    Rear WL camber bolts
Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Positions, 205 55 16 (since they're All Seasons typing it all out makes them sound cooler)
Again, stock springs, stock sways, stock endlinks, etc.

I am thinking -1.0 to -1.5 front (limited of course by factory bolts) and -0.5 to -1.0 rear. 0 toe, Castor I understand was dictated by the Subaru Fates.

    Thanks for the input!

Chris, when is your appointment with Jeff? I guess I should just ask you in person, as I will be there tomorrow.

You should send an email or call Jen for allowing me to purchase the impact wrench tonight. She has officially cut me off from purchase privileges till I start making my own money.

anyhoo, see you and Darbi-Chan in Toma tomorrow!

-1.2--1.3 up front, I had them max out the front camber bolts (-1.5 to -1.6) orininally and my insides of my tires were camber worn in 6 months. Had them change it to 1.3 and it was better. The rear I've got set at -1.4 and I like how the rear end rotates. I got a wagon too so know a bit about the handling.

Good to know about the tire wear on the front. I remember you posting about it but didn't know how it worked out in the end. You didn't take much out of the rear? I really feel the understeer with it at stock so I was thinking the -0.5 to -1.0 somewhere would help. But if it is good for you at -1.4...hmm... Do you have upgraded rear sway, endlinks or strut tower brace?

And Rich, I'll e-mail or call Jen tomorrow. I think that if I did so tonight yet you would only have a rougher go of it.

-1.3* front -1.4* rear causes the rear end to rotate? Okay, what am I missing here with the wagon, that goes against everything I know about suspension geometry and weight bias.

Here's the car and driver friendly alignment I like for daily driving

    FRONT camber = -.80 to -1.0
    REAR camber = -.20 to -.40
    Toe = 0
    Cross toe = 0

This is my 04 sedan. I go with less camber in the rear to promote oversteer, but not much.

Maybe he meant: "The rear I've got set at -1.4 and I like how the rear end DOESN'T ROTATE" ? :p
