The FA TGV's are coming together nicely!

We purchased adapters to further test injector fitment on the EJ TGV design. They are sealed with an o-ring instead of downward pressure which is great but sadly from our testing they do grow in length by 3.5mm, so washers will be needed (we'll supply these) to take up the extra room.

 

That doesn't seem right from what I've heard, when putting them side by side did you line up the bevel on the adapter with the bottom of the original (slightly squished) square bushing, because that's how they should sit in the bore... With the new adapters the tip of the injector may sit a few mm lower in the tgv, but the top datum should be the same.

 

I'm a machinist by trade, I measured a difference and you can see the difference

The invoice from ID, it says height increases by 3.5mm, which I measured.

I can probably modify the adapters to retain the old style height but adding washers is just as easy.

An update on the site. We have combined the two different trans mount configurations into one to address any possible fitment issues that may arise, so when you purchase the trans mount it comes with a 5MT spacer.

I modified the adapters supplied from ID and have made them work with ID1000's to be at the same height as they are with square cushions (old style). Soon i hope to confirm things with ID2000's. The overall height of the adapter, thru hole and ID bore depth had to be modified to make it work lol

I'm thinking about asking ID if i can make adapters that work without using washers under the fuel rails.

Figured everything out with the injectors. If you purchase new injectors (that come with the new adapters) they are compensated on the injector body to be at OEM height but if you try to use these new adapters on the old style injector bodies, they will require 3.5MM of washers/spacers or modifications on the adapters to get OEM height.

A few things still need to be finished up before the EJ TGV train starts rolling but it'll be well worth the wait.

 

Just finishing up some things but a lot of goodies are coming early next year.

I'm still waiting on a few parts to be turned before a big batch of NEW products get released. Also got the go ahead to make fuel injector seal adapters for old style injector bodies (that use square cushions), just waiting on a few more injectors to arrive to finalize the dimensions.
