thats right next to my Grandpa's house!! eagle market or whatever ftw. yea the world is indeed coming to an end. but that means more gas for us
They're saying on the news gas might hit $2.50 by December. It's great, but it doesn't quite make up for everything I've lost on my 401k and stocks.
I know, I'm still contributing on my 401k and everything. It's just depressing to see all the investment and gains crash and burn.
Yeah, this is what happens when the commodity investors/speculators who have been driving the price of oil skyhigh stop buying oil futures. Welcome to to the actual real price of oil.
The price of crude has dropped around 40%, but we are still at or slightly above $3 a gallon? I guess I just don't understand how the price of crude can change so much and the price at the pump fluctuates a lot less. I remember about ten years ago crude was at about $15 a barrel and I paid as low as $0.829 for a gallon. Ten years later its about ten times higher at around $150 a barrel, but gasoline was "only" up to about $4.00 a gallon. :dunno:
I had to do a double take when I saw a 2 on the board! It just sounds weird saying it doesn't it? Gas is 2.xx...
I'll be honest. I drove from Fargo, to Willmar, to Saint Paul, then back to Maple Grove the night before the rallycross. 332 miles, 11 gallons of 87 oct. Sometimes I wish I had more power, but then I can't imagine what I'd do with it for the 95% of the time I'm not RX/AXing it.
I filled up for $2.99 several days ago at an SA near the Mendota Bridge. It made me mad to think that I was so relieved that gas was "only" $2.99 a gallon. At least I don't have to feel quite so butt-raped as when it took literally $50 to fill my tiny tank with regular gas. The other week I had to fill up 4 times - that was approaching $200 in gas in a week. It's my second biggest expense besides rent - and I only commute 17 miles to work during off-peak hours running 87 octane.
^^^ And what, let the Subaru sit parked? You blaspheme!!! Oh, and the nearest bus stop is like 4 miles from my work.
This is because many of the costs of oil production do not change. Things like shipping, refining, and storage costs do not change. This is reflected in the non-linear relationship between crude and cost at the pump. I like the cheap gas prices as much as the next guy, but honestly, the large majority of us drive turbocharged all-time-AWD cars, I'm not sure we're the best group to be complaining gas is expensive.
lolz, honestly... these price scare me. Why would they drop so fast and so sharp. Becuase of the forcast of a World wide recession. thats how I see it and I'm scared.
Hey. You won't be able to get a job, your stocks and all that money you have in your mattress won't be worth anything, but at least you'll be able to drive your car for cheap!!
Let's all move to Venezuela! $0.12 a gallon. Just one tiny catch, we have to deal with the crazy dictator guy. oh and you can only drive your car certain days of the week depending on your license plate number. But hey Dirt Cheap Gas!
It's insane we think that's cheap. When I started driving (which wasn't that long ago) a gallon of regular was under $1 in ****ing California. When (well, IF) it hits ~$1.50, then i'll celebrate. Otherwise, **** gas prices.
Back in high school I could go almost a month on a full tank and spend right around $10. Of course, I was making $3 an hour...
Yeah, I was pissed back then when I had to pay $1.50 for premium to put in the snomobile I had for a little while. Little did I know what we were all in for.
$2.99 is nice. I think the one in Spring Park will have dropped to that price by the time I get home. they have been going down an avg of .05 per day. It was pretty rough when I was paying $40+ to fill up my 12 gallon tank with the cheapest stuff out there. Pretty much every penny I made went to gas... of for the days when gas was $1.16. I wish I had my Impreza back then, and not a stupid gas hog V6 pathfinder (O2 sensor kept going out, giving me a whopping 8mpgs).
yeah.. they say if you have sold your stocks etc you are screwed... hold on... it will get better it always does.. cycles
My aunt had about $1 mil total in her varied holdings 10 years ago. Around 2003 it had sunk to $400k. She lamented not selling some particular stuff before they tanked tons, but since she pretty much missed the boat she decided to hold on to most of her big stuff. Now she's back up around $800k. Not exactly back to what it would've been had the economy kept a generally rising pattern, though. 89 cents per when I started driving in MN. Could fill the tank and get a pack of smokes for under $15.
Yea I was pretty much dancing in my car when i saw 2.99. So i dont get it, our money is devalued and gas price drops ???
