Was trolling around the internet looking for subarus with roofracks and actually came upon some with brush guards -- i'm curiously liking the look. Anyone here got one, or had one, or thought about getting one?

They look pretty sweet on the right car. How ever I wouldn't want one on my 06. But I do plan on making a custom one for my 87 GL wagon when I start that project.

I don't even like them on trucks, so I'll pass on one for my car.

Check out the local road rally guys. Lots of them drive scoobs, even more have brush guards and lights.

rally innovations-cheap flimsy bar, but also very small profile, ok for a few lightweight lights)
Primitive Performance- heavy duty full on rally light bar. Strong enough for a full grown human or two to stand on it. Large obtrusive profile however.
Gorilla Offroad skid plate and lightbar in one. Freakin cool design, but spendy.

Primitive is good stuff made by folks that regularly compete in various forms of rally. A+++ recommended.

Oh yeah it did. The car is back to stock now, and I'm going to be trading it in on an '06 STi. Better platform for my off-road forays into the desert.

I used to run this on my winter bumper, but it started to rust on the inside-out.

The big thing is are you looking for a brush guard (something to help protect the car), or just a light holder??

I waited on Rally Innovations promises that kept being broken so long, I borrowed a welder and made my own light bar. Easily removable in less that 10 min. And with the bar off, you can barely tell that there is supposed to be something there.
