    my first bike... 2000 TL1000R v-twin....

would I recommend it... NO WAY!!! ha ha... well it was my first REAL road bike... Ihave grown up riding on farms etc... but I tell you if you get something with too much power straight out you wont get chance to appreciate true riding... you will be like me.. burnouts and wheelies.. ha ha ha but once we started having kids, I started re-thinking that wheelstand or 2 or 3..ha ha

If you are after a bike to enjoy riding... listen to what these guys are saying... if you wanna prove stats right and go crazy.... get what you want...

wow ok enough is enough. if you are not going to anwer the topic about what bike people have ridden then stop posting in this thread. And back off on wings, if you want someone to bitch at do it to me not someone trying to stick up for me. everyone needs to stop writing these long thesises about how inexperienced and likeley i am to get killed or kill someone else. I have never done anything to any of you what so ever and i've said nothing but kind words on this forum and tried to help people out the best i can.

and since we are into the topic about being idiots on the road and putting other peoples lives in danger including our own, what are your plans with your ej22? Are you going to start professionally road racing with it? I specifically remember you saying that it was going to be more of a "highway racer" or somthing along those lines. I dont remember the exact quote but it was somthing like that. so stop telling me how likely i am to hurt others or myself when even you have a rediculously fast car that you are going to speed with and put other peoples lives, including your own at risk.

I went after wings for being an ignorant ass. And never once did I attack you. Not once. I drive the way I drive, and I've had lots of seat time on closed roads that require alot more control and concentration than anything you've ever driven on. The appropriate term for my car is Freeway monster. The reason being is that it is now virtually useless on small short courses. Yes, I will probably bring my car up to speed on the freeway, not gonna lie. But I've spent enough time behind the wheel of my car at high rates of speed to know what I am capable of and when to do it. And I wont do it in traffic, it will likely be late at night. And while I may not 'professionally' race my car, I will certainly return to the canyon courses I drove before I moved here. And you can bring up the speeding all you want, I'm not going to lie, I exceed the speed limit all the time, it's called following the pace of traffic. And you can ask any of the people that I regularly associate with on here, I'm the last person you want leading your group down the freeway because to them, i drive like a grandmother. But this isn't about me, and it was definately not about you. I went after your idiot friend for telling all of us to piss off when we brought up our concerns about you buying a super bike as a first bike. Telling us it is your decision, not ours. And then trying to relate some isolated case about some chick that drowned herself by drinking too much water to the trend of teenagers wrecking sport bikes. And you can shove your high and mighty bull**** right back where you found it...since he who is without sin can throw the first stone here. I take it you never exceed teh speedlimit on public roads, and count to 3 at all stop signs. Eat my ass dude. You can ride your high horse back home.

    I dunno.

It was obvious from the first post this thread wasn't going to end good. I'm just going to lock this down right here.

Shorty: you wanna test ride the bike, go to your local honda dealer. They won't let you on it. Same as probably anyone else. sorry, them's the breaks, thats the way the world is.

No argument you can make doesn't change the fact that cold hard statistics tells everyone that owning a race replica 600cc super sports is a one way ride to slab city at your age. Go ahead, you want to prove how mature you are, buy the bike and ride it all you want. Don't let a bunch of forum posters tell you how to live your life but ALSO don't ignore the crushingly obvious advice people are giving you either. But keep in mind that most of the people giving advice are somewhat experienced riders who have seen a lot of younger guys crippled, killed or maimed. This isn't some "oh some kid has an STi and thinks he's a hot shoe driver lets all put him in his place" thread this is a "I seriously think this is dangerous, and I know because I was there once" thread. Keep in mind when people were saying you'd crash your STi it was becuase of some less than flattering things that were said about you by the OP who I believe is an acquaintance of yours who painted you initially in a very negative light. Now you didn't turn out to be a cocky kid when you joined the forums here and to the best of my knowledge nobody has treated you that way and take what you say at face value. That is good, but when you start talking about motorcycles at your age, then age becomes an issue for several reasons:

    1) your insurance will be retarded
    2) statistics state you're highly likely to injure yourself or someone else.
    3) you may lack fundamental skills which are developed over time on less powerful bikes

Now people gave you a lot of good advice such as:

    1) get a cheaper bike that will have less insurance cost and be easier to learn on.
    2) almost nobody will let you test ride a motorcycle because of your lack of a license, experience, age.
    3) the MSF course will be very helpful for you.

Noe go get a $1000 80's generic japanese bike and get practicing. you'll be thankful that you did.

And yes many of us were stupid teenagers/younger twentysomethings who are lucky to be alive.
