Yeah, I mentioned that. Weekends work better for me, as well. Yeah, I think this was also a large contributing factor.
notes from Joel should be up within a few days, we need to role a lot of information out so it's going to take a bit to compile all of it. Summary- very productive meeting with some solid times lines in place to make the club get off the ground. Expect good things in the next couple weeks. Also, going to be introducing some new task force members.
So what if we weren't at the meeting and want to pay for our membership? Is there going to be a thread for this?
Misread the date. I was about to leave for the meeting tonight. I couldn't have made it last night anyway.
weather or not.... if you where commited to come, you came. I didn't make it for the EARLY part of the first meet, but I made effort to get my car there EARLY IN THE MORNING.
guess I wasn't committed to drive to such a central location 1hr away in pouring rain, after working a 10hour day, trying to raise 3 kids, be a good husband... you know.. 3 of 4 things you know nothing about let's not blanket statement that cause people can't make a meeting in the middle of woop woop during a work week that they aren't committed....
I think what he meant is people who said they were going to come and didn't because of some minor sprinkles. ie- hand raisers...heck who cares I came and left within 5 minuets sorry guys.
i personally didn't even think this meeting was a big deal anyway? i don't get the fuss about the whole being a legit club? i go to firestone and hang out on the forum and consider it a club just because we all have subarus. i could care less if it was something bigger or who is president? i guess im a more pay your own way and don't have to be part of a legit club to go on a cruise or to the ice races. i get the part of the "if a stupid newb is at a event and crashes there car they cant sue mnsubaru because of it" part. but you don't need my help for that.
My main interest would be track days without having to mooch off of PCA, ACNA, the BMW folks, etc. Without a proper club and some sort of limite dliability setup, that can't happen. And even beyond that, the potential legal risks of bigger types of eevent preclude individual organization in some cases. To get the LLC (I use this term broadly), a proper non-profit one, requires a substantial amount of time and imput and can only really happen by setting up a structure. Even without an LLC, a proper organization allows better event organization. And if you're going to have an organization, its always good to have the most input possible. Also, a non-profit is somewhat expensive to setup, so getting more members helps with that.
A proper club needs members, and it take lots of time to organize the club and events. Everyone needs to help.
Bump for details, as times moving quickly. Joel, let me know if you'd like any help getting stuff together.
