Assistance Needed. 2008 WRX ACCESSPORT

Hey Guys,

I am looking for someone to help me out ASAP. I need a Accessport for a 2008 WRX to reset my ECU.

I'll explain later how and when I got a WRX but in order for me to move forward I really appreciate it if someone can come to RS Motors (Ron) or I can come get it from you. We would need to unmarry it from your system and on to mine then I will unmarry it and bring it back.

Again your help would be much much appreciated.

I am sure many of you don't know me, but I have been out of this arena for a while now, but now I am boosting my way back in lol. Many guys here know me and can vouch for me.

I have one for my 2011 WRX, if that's the same I'm happy to help! I just don't want to lose my stock map (backed up on the AP) or custom stage 1 for that matter. Is there a way to download it to a computer then put it back on the unit later?

Does anyone here know if a 2011 Accessport would work on an 08??

Yes it will work for the 08. AP-SUB-003 works for 08-13 WRX/STI

 

Hey Guys, Josh is awesome and will be letting me use his accessport next week, since he is unavailable this week. Only for the sake of not bothering the folks at RS Motors by leaving my car for a long time there, if anyone has a compatible accessport I can borrow sooner, I could come pick it up.

Resolved! I drove down to RS Motors today and we flashed his ECU to basically unlock it (i'm not a scientist). It started and limped into their garage for an open source tune! BTW it sounds like a beast. I was happy to be able to help out, that's the best part about this community.

Also, key learning from this was that Cobb tells people (including me 2 days ago) that once you un-marry an AP from one car and marry it to another, that it wipes all previous maps off (ie. they want EVERYONE to buy one). I was very concerned about losing my stock tune (I have my custom stage 1 backed up on my computer), but it was still there after we married it to Mo's wrx, then back to mine! Ron wasn't there, but the RS guys are awesome. I can't wait to work with them on a stage 2 tune!
