there is no better way to get used to it, than to do it! there are many experienced drivers that will be there that would love to lend a word or two durring the event.... unfortunatly because this is a national challange event, ride alongs are not allowed....

this is the best venue for a regular street car to come to!

I was thinking about trying to borrow a VW and running it for the potential cash, but seeing who's already had that idea, I'm not sure I'd be willing to drive someone else's car hard enough to be competitive.

I could come out and run the Versa in SF, just for laughs. Or I could kill myself trying to get the new SE-R functional enough by the weekend. I don't need a bumper or headlights to compete, do I? I'd need to tow in though (no insurance nor license plates for it yet).

 

Nope, you don't need bumper or headlights to be in M2.
My Golf still has an open diff and I'm not going to kill myself, or Kevin trying to do it before the event. It'll be slow, but we'll still have fun!

 

I'm interested in lending you guys a hand on Saturday night. Pretty sure I have no plans yet, and I'll know for sure by tomorrow. Also, I'll be registering tomorrow as well.

Actually, it's probably less work getting the old Sentra functional again than it is to get the new one, as I've had hardly any time to tear the old apart. A little welding, and a couple dozen bolts and it will be back to it's former "glory." This is probably my best route, assuming I can scrounge a truck and trailer.

so how essential do you guys/gals think power steering would be in this rally x? because im definitely lacking that in my rex right now....

it depends how much you can man handle your car, lol i have drivn cars at rallyx's before w/out PS... they have been smaller FWD cars though....

yeah the pump is shot, i have been driving it on pavement like this for some time though so maybe i would be ok.

 

Find a new/used power steering pump and slap it in. Easy fix and not too much money if you go used..

 

Do what she says and nobody will get hurt, or cones tacked on for registering late! Done.

What, you need fancy new bushings to compete? The shifter bushings in my car are all old enough to vote! The wheels I'll be using are 20 years old.

The Sentra is now a S***bucket like it's never been before. Prepare to avert your eyes.

 

We just didn't want to explodicate the tranny by doing the second to reverse downshift LOL!

Chewing gum would have been better than the old bushings!
