I am not religious at all. But i think Faith is a great thing and every one should have one. It can be religious( which is the strongest and a lot of times the most pure) or non religions.

yes thank you. Head thinks, fingers type. I type a word brat more often than word Bart hence the evidence of misspelling.

[FONT=verdana, geneva, arial]The point of this line of research is that proficient readers read most words (except very long ones) principally through the first and last letters and a rapid recognition of the general shape and content of the entire word. [FONT=verdana, geneva, arial]We can also easily read both cursive and block writing, different fonts (including fonts we rarely see), and words with mixed capital and small letters. Yes, the Berkeley protesters have a right to protest. They also have a right to make fools of themselves publicly and rattle off their ignorance. The reason these rights exist is because military members of the past fought with their lives for our right to be free, and military members presently defend their right to be free. And I know, Taras, you are going to reply to this with your typical ignorance, but let me explain to you...current military members protecting your freedoms has NOTHING to do with the Iraq war. It has to do with repelling force. Do you see anyone attacking us? Anyone at all. There is no chance anyone will bring war to this soil anytime soon. And that is because we have a finely polished war machine. And we know how to use it. And that war machine consists of men and women who have volunteered their LIVES to that purpose.

I don't wish for another terrorist attack on this country, but if it is going to happen. I hope it happens to Berkeley, or any college for that matter. Maybe even you snot nosed, ignorant ****s at Hamline or whatever. You have a right to spew your ignorant and jaded opinion about the purpose and contribution the US military has made to this country past and present, I'll give you that. And the best part is, you have that right because you are on US soil. How you are making it through college I'll never understand. You seriously have no idea what you are talking about with regards to the military here.

Here's my take on the protests. Because I used to just love hearing brain dead college hippy jackwits yammer on about how they "drove the military recruiters out...baby killers." Guess what, jackasses, it is their JOB to recruit. They usually pick recruiting duty to get away from deployment for a while. In the military, recruiting duty is a chance to rest and not be deployed for a couple years. There are maybe a couple in each district that are gung ho and really want to help the cause, but the rest are just there trying to get their quota of people in. It's their job. And I guarantee they aren't sitting at your college because they like to be there. You are more than welcome to protest their presence at the school, but getting in THEIR personal faces about it is childish and ignorant. They are there because they were TOLD to be there, not because they wanted to be there. Yelling at them only shows just how brutally ignorant most college students are. And if they pull federal funding from Berkeley, that's awesome in my book. You don't want to respect those that allow you to go to school and have your own thoughts and ideas and voice? Cool, then we will give them the money that we were originally planning to give you. And you can just pay huge tuition and eat flower petals all day or whatever dumb things you do.

Jakeachy...you are quite possibly the most ignorant and poorly informed child I've ever heard speak. You go on about how you hate that muslim kid in your class because he bows down and prays to his God in class. In his world, that is his only way to salvation. Here in America, respect your fellow man. Sure, the guy spitting on GM cars is stupid, I agree. But the fact that he follows his religion's structure is a foolish and ignorant reason to hate. Plus, every post thus far that I've read from you was absolutely stupid. Stay in school, and study hard...because you wont make it on natural talent.

And the happy hug time crap you speak of? Nonsense, it is called 'mutual respect.' And I have yet to meet a teenager that has it. You'll grow up one day, boy wonder, and when you do, you'll hopefully find some insight into the worlds of other people. Here's something you can try, next time you are in public, keep your mouth shut and open your eyes and focus on one person. Try to pick someone that isn't as lily white as yourself. And then, try to imagine what they go through every single day when you don't see them. Imagine their hardships and triumphs, big or small, and try to imagine what they see. Do that a few times and see if your little boy bubble doesn't expand a little.

Yes i would like to comment. I am not totally in disagreement with you. I have met with you before and i think you are a reasonable person.

If i understand you right you kinda contradict yourself a bit. One minute you say College is worthless and need to be bombed(a little drastic, i know) and the other minute you say to Jakeachy that he needs to go to school. A little contradictory there doncha think?

Yeah, that would be contradictory if you took it out of context. But if you actually had any reading comprehension skills, you'd know that I am talking about bombing colleges for the irony of killing a bunch of protesting college kids that hate the military...not because I don't think college is important. I do think college is important if that is your route to success. And continuing education helps millions of people get better jobs by learning more skills.

It was more hypothetical, "what would the ignorant college kiddies say if suddenly they were attacked on our soil?" They'd be begging for military protection. And with the rock hard ignorance of alot of Berkeley students, they'd likely still spit on the military members that had been chosen to protect them.

And yes, Jakeachy should stay in school and get as much education as he can. Because he is brutally stupid. There is no job market for spewing ignorance and hate and being a close minded jackass.

And my personal enjoyment of that college bomb irony would be because there were tons of times while I was sitting out in the Persian Gulf with nothing to do, where I would read news stories about college kids treating military people like dirt, and I would wish silently in my mind for some enemy combatants to come and put the boots to them.

I understand what you are saying. They have right to protest and think whatever they want. I think US Army has a right to be on campuses just like any other employer. frankly i like seeing them on campus because i like talking to them and get information about currant issues first hand.

Jason, I wholeheartedly agree that the majority of college students cannot see outside the confines of their campus. At the same time, the majority of Americans cannot see past their own driveway.

A college campus is a very narrow angle of society. The BS that many students think of the way things work could not be further from the truth. Colleges and university's do not represent the society as a whole, and that I'm thankful for. I DO attend a university yes, but I don't want to be here any longer than I have to. For me, its a means to a better lifestyle. That that's with one of the highest paying jobs from a bachelor's degree in engineering. Personally, I could do without sharing space with majors such as philosophy, women's studies, political science, etc.

Cleansing seems to be exactly what Australia is doing. Granted, its hard to live with people that wish to follow laws which are different than their governing country--but mass deportation? Wow.

In fact, I think it'd be great if we could give the idiots what they want. Maybe take a poll of Californians and ask them if they like military personnel. And if they say yes, silently move them out of state over night, leave the ones that said no, and then fence off the border. Then we can invite a bunch of nations to come over and kill, steal, rape and pillage the whole lot of them. And for added pleasure, we could have military members manning the fences..."sorry, kids, you didn't want us, you spit on us, and told us we were the bottom of the barrel as far as humans go...you're on your own now. If you can survive the next two weeks, you'll walk away with your anal fortitude (well most of them) and your lives. Good luck, hopefully that liberal art degree can save your ass from getting raped or shot." We almost need someone to bring war to our soil so they can see what it is like to need the military and what it feels like to have your precious freedoms threatened.
