Sorry Zach and Greg, didn't mean to step on your toes. I was just trying to bring him down from his high horse of being so educated.
OOOOH OOH, you know what would rock, is if we had a dog population problem like they are talking about in the OP, and we could get a hunting license! I'd buy a gun for that!
I just found Denis Leary explaining the hypocrisy of our resident Russian when it comes to which animals should live or die. This link should not be viewed at work. Period. Full stop. Watch this at home. I don't want anyone bitching that I didn't put up enough warnings. This video is NSFW due to language. Once again, NSFW. For the challenged among us, do not watch this at work. http://youtube.com/watch?v=_-Vnpp1Ikk8&feature=related I should add that this is not an attack at Taras. It actually breaks down the hypocrisy in this thread that's been mentioned before in a more humorous vein.
That depends. How do your bosses feel about somewhat liberal use of certain four letter words? If your boss happens to be a former military member, this will likely slide right under their radar. If you're working inside a convent, you will likely have rulers broken over your knuckles.
Just pointing out that only a truly educated person would see the common sense in something and back away from it. A non-college educated person would probably ignore common sense, argue with people that express it, and then do exactly what the people told them not to do.
There wasn't for me. I could have spent 4 years in electronics courses and taken the usual electives and core courses...but I felt my time was better spent getting educated on the job since most places that hire electronics techs would rather you have work experience.
your navy time equates to a college degree .. a bachelors, if i'm not mistaken (if you've spent 6 years) so .. whatever. You still get a decent job. Even if you only hold an associates' degree. That is a better one to have, imo ..
Readymix @ 24: Equivalent Assoc. in Electronics and 6 years work experience. Joe College @ 24: Bachelors in electronics stuff and maybe 2 years of work experience if he could find a place to get hired. And the best part is, I didn't have to take BS philosophy classes.
philosophy can be fun, it's not all freud and nietzsche. Like philosophical poets (read TS Eliot) .. for example. I loved all of my philosophy classes, because I was able to ask questions that people normally don't ask. Like, how can you prove God exists .. and that sort of thing.
Ya, the liberal education requirements (U of M rhetoric) or general education requirements (mn state school lingo) are lame and make you spend more money for?? And the credits rarely transfer, so they get you again if you do transfer
OK, it's George Carlin. NSFW. He swears. A lot. He did the 7 words skit. He uses the f-word, the c-word, the b-word, the s-word, the e-word, the u-word, the i-word, and a whole host of other nasty words like 'abstract.' THIS IS NOT SAFE FOR WORK.
