Taras and people like him make me smile at their grasps at straws. Tinfoil hats and all.

Their view of needing to see the body and parade their corpse around the streets just shows a lack of tact, intelligence, and common sense on their part. Partaking in those kinds of actions makes us no better than the ideology we are up against. The Navy's handling of the body is the best they could do given the situation and the timing. If the administration asked other countries beforehand if they want the body, that would compromise the mission itself. Doing so would waste millions of dollars and thousands of hours of work by our own public employees.

No matter what you do, someone is always going to complain.

It's the **** like this that gets me all foamy mouthed and hypertensioned: http://www.kare11.com/news/article/921584/396/Every-day-is-Memorial-Day-for-small-Minn-town

All the media companies get to digging around in their "Patriotism" folders looking for their pre-packaged stories about soldiers and heroism. I mean, I get it. They killed Osama. Good job. Have a beer! Let's move on. Put your flag down and go back to work. I don't know if you know this, but we're losing the War on Poverty.

Yeah, good grief. Those stupid soldier guys have been doing all of that heroism stuff for 10 years now, ball up old glory and toss it under the bed where that patriotic stuff about veterans and sacrifies belongs. Lets get back to some real mens work.

You'll be surprised to know there's guys around here with fewer friends because of all that silly soldiering.

You missed the point. What he is trying to say is, instead of news outlets digging up pointless feel good stories that aren't news, they should maybe be covering things like the economic crisis this country is in. That story about that town was a pure, feel-good fluff piece. And every major broadcast affiliate is doing it.

I'll apologize in advance: I've lost so much faith in the general public anything on the news that doesn't involve a guido taking steroids and his midget friend is an improvement. That being said:

I'll take "fluff" about "heroism" and "patriotism" about a couple of guys getting recognized for their lives, because those stories are rarely aired in preference to charlie sheens next twitter post.

At this point we're blessed news networks aren't offering their opinions of national economics with the way the people follow the three stories they provide a day.

Sometimes, when Lee Greenwood's "Proud To Be An American" starts playing on the radio, I can't help but take old glory off the wall and hug it while I cry.

I can taste your sarcasm. And when paired with a hoppy IPA, it's a most delicious meal.
