Hey guys, I'm trying to install a block heater on my '13 WRX and every install writt up says there's an obvious 14mm bolt to unscrew the stock block coolant plug. I'm hopefully being a complete idiot, because I can't find this bolt anywhere. Can someone help me figure ito where the plug location is?
What MY is the car? 2006/2007 GD should be on the drivers side of the block. Looks like a 1 1/2 plug with an allen key I believe
This is the one(already installed). Right next to where the dipstick enters the oil pan. Engine is upside down on a stand in this pic, but you get the idea.
Oh interesting, thanks for the reply! I think there is a T70 bolt there, I wonder if they changed the bolt style in more recent years. I'm but keen on guessing which one to undo lol
Thanks again for the advice, it was a T70 torx bit; in retrospect I wish I had taken a before picture to make a decent write up. I never found one in my limited Googling that has the newer Torx bit, but I can confirm that this ~1.5" plug with T70 head on the driver side near the oil dipstick entry is the correct plug. I was very thankful when blue fluid came out instead of oil!
