actually it was the ford dealership in eden prairie, i worked at the mobil station behind it, and heard they had an sti, so i went to look....bad salesmen (plus they're jerks as customers too)

i read on nasioc about pitch mounts breaking on the 06 sti because of those liquid filled mounts

i called rabbit up just to make sure the wrx's didn't get screwed =D

didn't some dealerships replace them (after messing up) with the metal ones?

I have had no issues with Bloomington Subaru...other than they never have anything I need in stock. ;) I typically walk in with a part number, they tell me they have to order it, I leave, return a few days later and pay....end of story.

Too bad I appear to be one of the few.

driftin240 - I just might bring it to your dealer. What does 30k service go for there and can I use Subiebucks towards it?
    Thanks

+1 to hating on Bloomington Acura/Subaru.

I have been there numerous times and no one offers to help in their sales department, and when you go to the desk and ask for help it seems like you are inconveniencing them.

My story, I had an Acura Integra, that needed service, nothing big. I think it was an oil change, and those pieces of crud, stole all the money out of my change drawer. Mind you it was only two dollars and change, but it is the principal. When I called to complain the service guy mentioned he just got off the phone with a woman who had a candy bar stolen from her console. I mean come on. I would never ever do business or recommend business to them ever.

WB has after hours support, and was very nice to me when I came in two weeks ago with a blown rod bearing at 16K miles.

Regarding warranty issues, you run the risk of voiding the warranty if you modify. I suggest removing any mods if possible before bringing it in to service to make your life easier.

I am the tech who worked on this vehicle, let me just start out by saying he is not telling the whole story about what happened. I think that if you guys saw the damage to the firewall, stress cracks in the windshield coming up from the cowl, missing heat shields and 3 missing exhaust bolts... as well as the broken pitch mount, bent hydraulic clutch line and bracket, the intercooler not lining up with the mounts, you would agree that warranty is questionable. The night manager did offer to get SOA involved and carbon1 denyed this. I do not sabotage cars, and did do my best to help him out. The service advisor he named did not even speak with him when he was in for the second time! For him to make that accusation and then get the persons name wrong, is just un called for. I am not trying to justify your guys' other bad experiences, what ever they may be, but Ive always prided myself on fixing cars to the best of my ability. For him to bash me and my shop without even telling the whole story just seemed wrong to me. As far as his clutch issue is concerned, we would have been more than willing to help out more, but as I said HE was the one who didnt want to get SOA involved.

That dealership will only fix a car right if you back them into a corner then they cover it all through warranty. Just yell at them enough and they crack. For me my money is on Morries Brooklyn Park all the way. I love those guys.

I dunno they have done alright by me, either way I'll never go back, since there are better options now for both parts and service.

    missing heat shields?
yeah, that will cause all kinds of problems

so basicly the guy had a tbe on, the mount blew, he swapped back to stock?

do you think the clutchline got dammaged durring the revert or because of the pitchmount blowing?
you'd have to bea special sort of gorilla to do that sort of dammage setting the tmic in place.

Yea it had a tbe on it but i never removed the ic. I took that off months ago and went back to stock because the car had been leaking oil. i got that fixed big thanks goes out to *sutech* for fixing that. as far as the clutch bracket and clutch line goes... yea its bent probably from the motor shifting around in the engine bay. the damage on the firewall must be from all the excessive motor play a pair of pliers could fix the damage. the stress cracks on the window are from going through a pothole on 35w.

*sutech* why are your guys trying to get me to shell out $400 for a new clutch slave cylinder and line? you guys had added fluid to the resevoir but didnt properly bleed the system. you said the car was drivable yet the clutch was still pegged to the floor.

Sutech is saying that if you had been wrenching under the hood at all, the chances of the car being out of warranty are greater than if not. That I agree on, but what I don't agree is that a tech that graduated with a certification in automotive repair will not touch a car because things have been removed and reinstalled. You will get that in all consumer products from different types of consumers.

What good is it when your job is to understand your work and the cars you work on when you don't apply that certification to? If the owner drove the car into the shop in good running condition and it leaves running in worse condition (or doesn't run at all), the fault is on the certified tech(s).
