So I changed my oil on Wednesday.

When I went to check my oil today to make sure the level was still good, I noticed the “Milky White” substance that is commonly the sign of a blown head gasket. I drove back to work and let the motor warm up to normal temp. I shut it off and checked it again. This time the oil is perfectly clean. I also checked my coolant in both the radiator and over flow. The coolant looks perfect with zero signs of oil in it.
I also waited again till the motor cooled and there were no signs of this again.

I searched around and found 1 post on nasioc that this happening could be just some condensation that got in. Is that possible? Or has anyone had this before?

This is the first time it’s happened, and I’ve never had any overheating problems or smoke coming out of the exhaust. So I have a feeling it’s just me being paranoid. But I want to be careful.

Any tips or advise would be great.

    -Tony

Get your coolant analyzed if you truly are worried about it. That will definitely tell you yes or no.

Do you do alot of short trips? it could just be moisture in your dipstick tube. Does the car over-heat? Ive NEVER seen head gaskets blown where coolant gets in the oil, on a subaru.

    Ding ding.

My wife has a short commute and I notice whitish foamy goo in the oil cap, especially in the winter. It is usually caused by condensation/moisture in the oil that hasn't fully burned off. If you do a lot of short trip driving, especially in colder weather, it can cause what you describe.

yeah i think I might if I notice it again.

Yeah actually I do. Its only a 15 minute drive to work and we use my car when i'm home to run to the store.(thats everyday)
And it doesnt over heat, it runs at the exact temp everytime I drive the car.
