    Dude, that sucks.

Try Raymond Auto Body or Lemettry's. If there's a crease in the quarter panel (looks like it, but hard to tell... either way, looks easy to pop out) it will probably be right around or a bit above your deductible. You could also try Megan and see if she's still taking on side work (@Legsaucy).

I've had great luck at LaMettry's in Eden Prairie. Ask for Brandon, tell him Brett referred you.

I've had good luck with monticello auto body (in monticello, obviously)
2 total losses, hit Guard rail, gravel truck sand blasted front end, rear ended, 3 hail damage claims, and a deer. Plus they re-glued a door molding on my former silverado. All in the past 5-ish years.

They do have free loaner cars.

Ha! It's not all me, the wife is included in this mess too.

I had the gravel truck sand blasting, then like 2 nights later she was rear ended. ( same car) both fixed at same time.

She had someone cut her off in icy roads and took the ditch to avoid hitting them, totaled the car.

8 weeks later, in the new car, I hit black ice in wi on i94 near eau Claire and hit the guard rail and got stuck in the center median. (Car ran and appeared it would drive) while waiting for a tow truck another driver did the same thing I did and ended up slamming into me at about 60, totaling the "new" car.

Hail damage was on 3 different cars, during 2 different storms.

Deer was on the wife's "newest" car. She was driving.

And the door molding on my silverado I traded for the Crosstrek was pretty common thing. In fact the other side needed it to be done about a year later (which I didn't do because I traded the truck in. )

If you aren't going to turn it in to insurance, I would just put something on any bare metal to keep it from rusting and wait until spring to get it fixed. Because sure as hell if you pay out of pocket for a quality repair someone (without insurance) will slide into that exact same area of your car...or you'll do it again yourself.

Winter tires are on finally (got them the day after this) and only the bumper is scratched under the paint, which is plastic. I've gotten a few quotes so far, haven't decided what I'm going to do yet.

Plus...this really should be cross posted in Shorty's "Countdown to Heart Break" thread.

    Plus one on the tires.

If the dark streaks are paint transfer, I would try some polishing compound and see if you can get them off...it will then look 1000% better. With such a nice looking, new car, don't cheap out of the repair...you'll regret it.

If you are a young guy, I would really consider paying out of pocket and leave your insurance out of it completely.

It's also my mechanical shop. We're a full service, one stop business. :)

The irony is that Mike is also a firefighter. There are three of us on the board now that I know of, we're starting to multiply like bunnies.

That's a good day. Do the job long enough and you'll pick up enough baggage to offset it. Also, the routine calls like that can be the most dangerous ones.

    They are fun though...

Understood Shorty, I was going to mention the same thing in my post but didn't want to put words in anyone's mouth :) I was thinking of the training exercises where you get to light them up, not the actual calls.

I'll have to do that ASAP. I slipped on a corner last night and it freaked me out. Sorry about your scuffs, glad it was in a parking lot and not on the road.

How much is a new bumper from morries for your year (with mnsubaru discount)? Used to be under $500 for most body styles. Might be worth just having a winter set of bumpers like most people used to back when you could get a bumper for like $350 new.

None of these events were chargeable accidents. My insurance got paid by the other carrier.

    Sorry, you're new here.

It's a running joke on the forum, I'm a firefighter. My advice for anything automotive related when it comes to fixing cars usually involves some sort of flammable liquid and an ignition source.

I don't actually own a body shop or a repair shop.

Lmao no worries I used to be a firefighter down in Tucson Arizona before I moved up here so I understand the sarcasm lol. But yeah hopefully I get this issue fixed soon, there's too much snow to be enjoying right now
