attn. borla header guys/girls.. i put on my original borla headers on my car and i know they are pretty weak in terms of durability and cracking with extreme heat because they are cerimac coated. i thought about this today and now its making me nervous:ugh:

how much am i at risk of my borla headers craking or breaking when the snow comes. if i decide that shens are in order and there is snow. it will obviously get underneath my car and i dont want the extreme exhaust heat and the ice cold snow to crack my headers. comments? or any information is greatly appreciated.. i might put on my oem headers for winter just to be safe but you guys have expereinced it before.

any information is greatly appreciated

you can wrap them with heat wrap and use silicone sealer. Both can be found at your local auto parts sore.

but they are not silver they are gold/copper in color..they are also extremely light weight..does that still mean they arent coated? and if they arent coated what does that mean for me..no cracking when the snow flys?

The color is merely a surface condition, caused by heat.

Hey those headers were on my car and as far as I know those weren't coated by borla and I didn't coat them. But yeah I think your worrying to much. But I mean those kits to wrap them are only like 50 doll hairs.

Not to hijack, but this interests me because I'm currently jumping all over a used set of Borla's that's wrapped and sealed.

What happens to the engine (N/A) when the headers crack - nothing immediately disastrous I assume? And my guess is it would be immediately obvious something's happened if they do crack (probably really loud)?
