i currently have the following: Crucial Racing Systems Uppipe Stromung Ceramic Coated Divorced Wastegate Downpipe Bosal Twin Tip catback Cobb Accessport I'm flashed to stg2 91oct right now. Am I ok with putting the stock catback on, or do I need to go with an aftermarket catback since I'm stg2? Also, who wants to buy the bosal
True, although the Cobb staged maps aren't very aggressive. He won't notice much power difference (other then missing boxer rubles).
i know, i will miss the boxer rumble. and I don't think I'll be missing too much HP and TQ, it's just a catback. At this point, I don't even know if it is possible because I can't remember the shape that the stock catback is in. Once I figure this out, and put it up for sale for sure, I'll post a proper fs thread with pics.
Isn't the stromung a shorty? Are you using stock last cat? If so, that's a much bigger restriction compared to the stock catback.
youll be fine. having the stock exhaust will do nothing to your car but make it lose a little horsepower and some torque. turbos are better the less back pressure you apply to them. why dont you just park out with the axle back and get an axle back that i alot quieter if that is what your concerned about.
you know what, i am up for any suggestions you guys have. quieter would be the best, but i figured i could sell the thing and get some cash if i put the stocker back on.
im not too sure as of which name brands yeild quieter systems but i can tell you right now that the less of a "can" shape you go the quieter youre going to get. so i know that apexi is out of the question. you might want to try HKS or pace setter. but again im not too sure on who makes quiet systems. youre probably going to be in the market for anything around 93db too.
quiet axelback options that I've heard: stock sti (2.5" baffled) Maddad whisper (2.5 or 3" straight through design) spt (3" baffled?) sti genome (2.5" baffled, can style, mad jdm y0) prodrive (2.5" baffled?) apparently wbr is supposed to be quiet, as well as the crucial. Cobb is decently quiet but with a much more pronounced bass tone than any of the others listed above.
forgot the borla hush also. Although the borla hush, prodrive, and cobb all have a deeper bass tone at idle that makes them seem louder. Resonator will help quite a bit with tone also. edit: here's a start: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=677926 but you're right, you'd be best served hearing everyone's set-up in person. All the ones I listed are owned by locals also.
thanks, fixed. this is all from memory so.. iirc the spt is baffled. not too many straight through and quiet axlebacks on the market.
