So I've got an automatic (gag) '05 WRX Wagon with some interesting brake noises. High pitched squealing noise that I don't notice unless the window is down. More interestingly, it goes away when the brakes are depressed. The only thing I can think of is that there's a foreign object stuck in there that's causing the issue. Anyone have any ideas? :ugh:
Gets my vote. Have you checked how much meat is left on the pads lately ? Squeakers are usually only on one side on Subaru pads, so you might need to do some contortions with a mirror or pull the wheels off to get a good look.
squeakers...love it....that will stick for sure! "Your brakes must be down to the squeakers (pause) Yes that is my official diagnosis!"
i had this happen not too long ago and it was my lock pin (bottom pin) on the caliper was seizes in place not allowing the brakes to freely move
LOl..I've never called them anything really. maybe low pad warning indicator. but squeaker is better...I'm sticking with that!
That's not a name, it's a silly, long winded description. Kind of like "large white encoldening apparatus". The rest of us just call it a fridge
