brake squeal/squeak is making me crazy!! help!!!

And yes, ive searched. so im hoping to get some new advise.
When i bought my car about a year ago, i noticed a brake squeak from the front. Now, it does this when im NOT braking. I know that this is a sign of the pads wearing down and the squealer making its presense known.
So finaly last week, I got some brand new hawk pads, and DBA slotted rotors. the squeak went away for a few days and this morning it started again. please please please, anyone who knows hot to fix this, let me know! I'm fully aware that with good brakes, these things happen, but its the same exact squeak as when i had the OEM brakes on.
and its so loud, nothing like ive heard before. so i know somethings wrong.
    thanks in advance everyone.

Was there any unusual wear in your OEM rotors when you took them off?

first thing I'd check is the clearance between the pad clips and the new rotors. they could be rubbing ever so slightly and causing the noise.

So, I'd take the wheel off (of course), rotate the caliper up and out of the way, then move the rotor back and forth and pay close attention to the pad clips....especially the bottom clips.

if this is the case you shoud notice the rubbing has caused a mark somewhere on the rotor.

    make sense?

    good luck!!

I just turned up the radio when the brakes started to squeal. Now I don't hear the squealing anymore.

This is common. Today's brake pads are much more metallic. Brand new cars will squeak off lot even.

You can try that goop that goes on the back of the pads, or you can take the rotors off and break the glaze on the surface with some 80 grit or a wizzy wheel. It might work for good, or a couple weeks.

Throw some race pads on for a week...you'll be begging for your old squeak back.

lol, ive had many many cars with race pads. believe me when i tell you guys, this is not normal. it is so loud, my girl can hear my car down the block when im comming home. and remember, this only happens when im not braking. when i brake, it goes away and then the normal brake squeal happens.
im gonna rip it apart and look at the clips like scuba said i should, i have a feeling thats the problem.
