Hey Brian, could you quote me a price for these items for a 2005 WRX:
    Short Throw Shifter
    MOMO Knob
    Hood deflector
    All weather floor mats

You mentioned Kartboy bushings in my other post about getting those, do you sell those or do I have to go elsewhere for that? If you sell them a price on that as well.

    Thanks!

    Alright, here's the parts breakdown:

Short Throw Shifter: C1010FA001 236.00 in stock
MOMO Knob: C1010SE000 67.20 normally stocked, sold out right now...should have one by Monday.
    All Weather Floor mats: J5010SS300

The hood deflector is not available, it looks like Subaru discountinued the part and didn't bother to update any of the brochures or manuals. Sorry about that, it was a surprise to me as well. For the Kartboy shifter bushings, I'd go to www.boxer4racing.com I've had good luck through them in the past and highly recommend them. If you need anything else please feel free to call me. Thanks!

Doh, my bad...the price on the floor mats is 39.96 and I have them on hand. Sorry about that, things got busy here and I forgot to get that price in there. I'll make sure I have a knob coming for Monday. Thanks!

Thanks Brian, I will plan on stopping by this next Monday 8/8 and pick up the STS, MOMO knob and Floor Mats. I will just do some searching online for a 05 Bug deflector then.

I have read about this clear plastic bug deflector that is like a thick strip of plastic laid across your front end and mirrors. Guy I work with who is a Acura driving school instructor was telling me about it. Not sure how I feel about having plastic adhered to my paint though but he swears by it. It would cost $150 though to do my front end and mirrors and $40 to do the lower quarter panels behind the tires.

    Anyways, See you Monday!

    Rear Swaybar Bushings?

    Brian,

Can you check to see how much the bushings for a rear 20mm sway bar are? I'm picking up a 20mm bar to replace the my 17mm one in my wagon. If you know of any other parts that I'll need to accomplish this, please also include prices for that as well.

    Thanks!

Trenar: The stuff you're referring to is 3M Stonegard, and it rocks. You really can't tell it's there unless you know what to look for, and it will save your paint. The only thing it won't protect against is a really big rock, which will still dent your hood (but might even with an acrylic deflector). I highly recommend it.

As far as the bushings, there are two different bushings in the linkage. The combo is both front and rear. The combo is probably the best way to go because you can replace both before you put the shifter in the car. You may notice a little more vibration, but I highly doubt that it'll get any louder in the car. It'll shift like a rifle bolt, though...Short and smooth.

Chris: You'll only need the bushings, it looks like. The mounting hardware is the same for all of them. The part number is 21047GA840 and they're 3.10 each. I'd have to order them, if you let me know by 3pm tomorrow I can have the parts by Monday AM. You'll need 2 of them.

Brian, slightly OT question, but do you guys have any sort of agreement with that Morrie's Body Works or whatever it's called up there? I seem to remember there being an auto body/painting place up near the dealership. Can you (or anyone else) vouch for their paint jobs?

I'm going to get an estimate on a 2002 WRX front bumper cover getting painted. An Xcel Energy truck scraped my parked car last week. I figure after I get an estimate, I can hit you up for the price of the unpainted bumper cover and then drop it off with them to have it painted and maybe put on.

As of right now, we don't have a discount for body work. For the front bumper, you'd be looking around 143.96 and I have one in stock for both a sedan or wagon each. The part number for the wagon is a 57704FE010 and the sedan is 57704FE020. Just let me know, we try to keep these in stock. Thanks!

Also, I can vouch for their paint jobs, they did a good job on my 02 MBP RS when I had my accident a couple years ago. They'll also be doing the rock repair on my WRX whenever I find the time. They do good work over there.

Also, just a note to everyone. I'll be out of town from tonight (Thursday) until Tuesday. I won't be able to access a computer, so if you have any questions just call Brett at 763-582-7462 and ask him any questions you might have. Thanks guys and have a great weekend!

Trenar: Just tell Joe or Brett on Monday when you come in what you're there for and that you're with the MN Subaru club and they'll get you fixed up.

Agreed. I have had both of my Imprezas have paint work done there, one got a whole new hood and bumper, the recent one had the right door handle and door fixed after the break-in. You couldn't tell any difference as to which was years old paint and which was new. I will certainly use them for any future body work.

hey brian this is kind of a thread jack but from your expirience or from what youve heard around your shop, what all can somone mod their car with and still be honored with their warranty? if that makes sense.....lol

maybe i should elaborate, im thinking of adding exhaust, bov, intake, utec, just the simple things would those void it?

Crush washers 11126AA000 .88 each in stock (They're the same crush washer so you'd need 9 of them)
Timing cover plug 13553AA012 1.72 Special Order (let me know by Thursday, I can have it by Monday/Tuesday.
What size tires do you need dismounted?

ShortThrow: Modifying a car and honoring a warranty are things that don't exactly go hand in hand. Let me explain. If you mod your car for increased power levels and your window doesn't roll down, it's a valid warranty claim because the two are not related. If you mod your car for increased power levels and you lunch your tranny, then that's a direct cause and effect and Subaru (NOT the dealership) can decline the warranty claim. Mods don't void warranties and neither do dealerships. However, Subaru can decline a warranty claim if they feel the car has been abused, modified or both. If the car has run above stock boost levels, Subaru can decline any powertrain related failure they want to. The warranty covers the car in stock form. Taking it out of stock can take away your warranty coverage. We're doing some work on an STI that belongs to one of the MNSubaru guys as I write this. One of the more modified cars I've ever seen (and one of the nicest, btw) and we're replacing the rear struts under warranty. If the car was in for a transmisison claim, the Subaru rep would probably reject it. Basically, if the mods cause or contribute to the failure then the warranty does not cover the repair. Now, let's put this into perspective. If you put all those things on your car and you go to any dealership with a check engine light, transmission/clutch/differential/axle issue, odds are you will not have your claim serviced under warranty. Not to mention improper setup of a few of those mods will cause CEL and possible engine damage (worst case scenario). Personally, I'd skip the BOV and the intake. The stock BOV is good to 20psi and the stock intake flows fine at 300+hp. If you've got any other questions, feel free to call or PM me. I can also have you talk to Jeff Antonsen (our Service Manager) who can also shed some light on the subject. Jeff has been working on Subarus for forever and he's the person who I have work on my car. He'll be able to help you out as well. Hopefully this helps :)

We've done 6 rear STI struts in the last 3 days. They're on back order, they're taking about two weeks or so to get. The 04 STI struts have been the problem ones so far. They did change the struts in 05. The 05 part number is 20360FE900 and they're 287.98. Something like that should be covered under warranty, unless you bent it or something. Just let me know. Thanks!

What's going on with the strut? I talked to our service manager Jeff and he said it might still be covered. From what I remember (and I might be wrong) the drop on the STI Prodrive springs isn't as drastic as the drop on the WRX Prodrive springs. Somewhere in the area of 10mm, isn't it? Anyway, if you want to bring it in I could have him look at it and we can see if there's something we can do. Just let me know. Thanks!

Can you find the prices for the weather strips that sit on top of the side skirts of a WRX wagon? I'm looking to see how much a set of grey ones would cost (I hear them come in grey and black).
