Hey Brian have you access to Genome parts for the GT? I've heard tell that there's a set of gauges matching the OEM dash ones that fit in the cubby on the GT. I've heard prices between $500-700 for the set but that's a better option than getting the AutoMeter Nexus gauges that aren't a perfect match to stock (and I could only get one gauge for $500, two for $700).

Awesome! did I mention you guys rock?!? cause you do!

don't worry about the tracking number, if it's convenient I'd use it, but the next couple days will be very hectic with school, so it doesn't really matter...

the water leak got much worse, so I was forced to take it apart and try to fix the problem, turned out to be the o-ring on the out-pipe....ran up to checker and got another for a few bucks....well, now I'll have an extra, now I'll never need one

hopefully I can do an oil change/rocker cover gasket replacement this weekend, and be all set for winter!!

    Thanks again!

Just orderd two ball joints for my wagon. Not only was their list price BEFORE discount cheaper than Burnsville Subaru but the service was 100% better than Burnsville and INFINATLY better than any experience I've had at Bloomington Acura/Subaru. Shipped right to my door? Wow :D

    Thank you Brett!

Actually Morgan, it was me that you talked to ;)

As far as Genome parts go for the Legacy, if you can find me a part number I can see if I can source them. I don't have any way of finding a part number through SOA because they're SOJ parts. I'll see what I can find also. Thanks guys, keep the orders coming!

Do you have a short throw shifter for an 02 wrx wagon in stock? If so, how much? And since I haven't touched this vehicle, mechanically, is the shifter an easy install? I'm assuming I would just take off the center console and would have access to the shifter (with removal of a few bolts)...am I right?

    Thanks,

    Mike

I have one on hand, the part number is C1010FA001 and the normal retail is 295.00. With your club discount it's 236.00. As far as the install, I haven't done one myself but I hear they're not that bad. There are several guys on the board who could help you with it. Probably cost you a case of beer, if that. I think the shifter has the directions to install it, but if it doesn't I can get you the diagrams. Thanks!

Actually Brian when you get the options and accessories lists for the 2006 Legacies let me know. Someone said the gauge pack was an option for the 2006 GT so perhaps it's an SOA part now.

I'll be on the lookout. We haven't really gotten anything as far as the 06's go. I did see a writeup on the new Legacy GT Spec B though. I want one. Badly. They'll only be making 500 of them.

For a complete longblock 06 motor you'd be looking at 5244.16 and the part number is 10100BN370. There are 4 of them in the country. Thanks!

You can find some WRX motors on Nasioc and a few other places for under 1000 or so. If you want the 2.5l then you can get an STI shortblock for around 1500-1600 new. The heads will bolt up.

Martin: there are two oil seals and a bearing in there. You shouldn't need a new snap ring. Here are your prices:

    28015AA070 7.06 in stock
    28015AA080 8.56 in stock
    28016AA011NT 59.60 in stock

We haven't really looked into it in a while. We did a while back, but they wanted us to stock a lot of stuff in return for level II pricing, and there just hasn't been a demand for it. I'll talk to him and see if I can find anything else out.

    Hey Brian (aka Brain)

I'm lookin to swap out my '06 STi trunk lid for a wingless trunk lid from a WRX or maybe an RS. What other Impreza sedan years would work to swap?

Let me do some research on this one. I'm going to have to actually go and compare both the STI and WRX and RS trunks to see which one will work. The 06 part numbers are showing as different than the previous years. I'm showing 3 different trunk lids. The first is for an RS and for a WRX. I'm guessing that is for a non spoiler wing. Then there is a WRX only trunklid, which I'm going to guess is for a WRX Limited which comes standard with a wing. Then there is another part number for the STI trunklid, which comes with the wing as well. Those are guesses on my part, but I want to make sure. Let me go look on the lot and I'll shoot you an answer back as soon as I'm sure. At the moment, I'm going to say that the only year you can swap with is an 06. Thanks!

No, they don't come with badges. I'm guessing it's either the spoiler or some contours in the panels themselves. We've noticed the the rear gates on the WRX wagons and the 2.5i wagons and the O.B Sport wagons are different as well. I'll see what I can find out.

We did the swap between my '06 STi with wing and an '02 WRX no-wing. The swap out went without a hitch. Had to do the locks and the springs but we did the whole thing in under an hour.

On the part numbers. Part of it may have to do with wings since the '06 trunk comes with the big wing and the WRX comes either with or without. The '02/'03 was steel and I believe the '04-'06 trunk is aluminum. There are enough material and wing differences to warant different part numbers. However, it seems that the geometry of the trunk lid itself is the same between all RS/WRX/STI's for all model years '02-'06

    Alright, I'm back...

Shane: The Q's that we have are 225/60R16, they're sized for an Outback. For a WRX you'll want either the Hakka RSI or the Hakka 2 (the RSI replaced the Q). The RSI is the non studded and the Hakka 2 is the studdable tire. Just let me know which you'd prefer.

Jason: You wouldn't happen to have the VIN number of the car you're pulling the block out of, would you? I can't remember what year your donor car was. The catalog is showing 2 different pumps and I want to make sure I'm looking at the right one.

LVT: The part number you'll need is 21047GA840 and they're 3.10 each. I'd need to order them. I don't know if the bushings will fit your swaybar clamps, they may be shaped differently. The clamp part numbers for the 93-01 and 02+ are different too. I can't imagine they'd be too different though. We can always return them if they don't fit.

Bluebaru: Glad to hear the swap worked out :) I had a feeling that the aluminum vs. steel was part of it, I just wasn't sure if some of the body contours were the same.

Hey brain, have i got a parts list for you. my buddy might be doing some preventative maintance on his scooby.

    do we are looking at:
    1996 OBS 5spd AWD

    both front axles (reman.s)
    timing belt
    oil pump
    water pump
    thermostat
    plugs
    plug wires
might be more but thats what i got for now.

LVT: i did the 20mm RSB on my car and i used the WRX bushings. they fit in the stock holders, but it is kind of a squeeze. i got mine used so they had soe miles on em. new ones will make it harder to put on, but they should still fit.

Actually Brian, I'm not sure I want the one that comes on the year I had. From what I understand there is a difference between the 91 and the 92+ MY oil pumps and there is something special bout one of them that makes me want it. Let me do a search and I'll get back to you on that.

LVT: I don't have any on hand right now...I'll have to order them in. If you want them Thursday, it'll be 20.00 for overnight freight. I'll see if I can piggyback it on another overnight order, but I can't guarantee it. I'll check on 2 day freight, I can get them here on Friday or I can stock order them for Monday. I'll know tomorrow by 12:30 or so.

Martin: I'll get the list together tomorrow morning.

Jason, I'm ready when you are.

i've heard good things about both, so it would probably come down to price.
could you price out both for me?

and if I'm going to buy a set of tires, do you think you could dismount and dispose of the old tires about a week or so before mounting and balancing the new ones?
i'd like to paint my stockers, and it would be easier with the tires off.
