CAI in winter?

    I have the 65mm APS cai and i was wondering if that was something you should take off for the winter or if you can leave it on all year round. Also how often should you clean the filter? Thanks

    Unless your car is underneath 3 feet of water, I wouldn't worry about it.

    And since it is the APS intake, I would also go back and check your fuel trims once it starts to get cold out (assuming you already tuned for the intake). I have seen the aps intakes throw off the afr a full point to the lean side.

    Yes it is tuned for the intake but how do you check your fuel trims to make sure its not running to lean in the winter?

    Any scan tool will be able to monitor your short term and long term fuel trims, and if those are getting maxed out, then you will need to adjust accordingly.
