I think I might have seen this, while looking for spring compressors but I forgot where.I think checker or something but I wonder about quality. This one does look a lot more safer and practical. Is there one I can by local? Even same brand?

I've looked at the Craftsman units, and the attachment does not look like it will work with valves that are recessed into the head.

Look at OTC's website and find some local dealers. Owatonna does happen to be in MN, ya know...

or you could always rent one from an auto parts store, but who knows how much you will use one, and how much they will charge to rent it

I knwo someone that has one of these and they work super well at getting the keepers out. However since Subaru heads are kind of special they are still a PITA to put back in even with the other tool. I found it it easier and simpler to get a friend and use some tools you already have (02 sensor socket is nice with the open side) to compress the spring and then tweezer the keepers back in.

I have that tool and others that might be easier than that one. That tool is ok for removal but it's rare that I use it for install.

It's nice to have a press.... and then make your own adapters and tools for these kind of jobs.
