    Hi People,

I was thinking of not posting this so i deleted it. But you guys kept it up anyways. I guess i will post the picture anyways. I need your help.

Thinking of buying this car. Can you review the bolts on this transmission. Does it look like it has been replaced? or the gasket been replaced? Should i be of concern? Or am I'm thinking too much. It is a 2008 Spec B. Thank you.

Dunno but that paint markered "3" on the subframe makes it look like a junkyard replacement part.

What part of that pic are you concerned about? The rust and the black soot?

Good luck with your search/purchase, Le.

These 6 speed a are pretty much bullet proof. If your concerned bring it to a Subaru specialist shop for a inspection. There are a couple, but if you want us to we don't charge too much.

We're really booked up right now but just a inspection we can usually squeeze in without a problem.

Rust on a Minnesota Subaru is like Coors in a trailer park. If you don't see it, something's up.

The black markings on the bolts of the transmission with no rust, maybe it had been worked on. Im more concern with the #3 being a junkyard part. Is that #3 normal on a stock car? Thanks for the feedback.

And I think the black markings are fire damage.
The car was on fire during a flood.

Butt seriously, I don't see an issue that would require too much worry.
Have you asked the seller these questions? Usually that's the first place to start.

Run a VIN check on it to confirm and have it inspected if you're that worried. I'm not entirely convinced the markings indicate a junkyard part.
Are you looking to collect this car and preserve it?

Just don't make mountains out of molehills. Looks like JM Auto is willing to have a look at it for you for piece of mind.

Fireflood for sure. I wouldn't worry about the tranny. If it doesn't make funny diff noises when driving/turning sharp.
But it has a turbo and a stock Subaru engine so it will definitely assplode very soon. Buy a corolla or Camry.
