I am actaully posting this for a friend but whenever he fills up his tank in his I believe 2004 legacy the car dies when he starts it up to drive away, then it will do it every time he stops or isnt on the gas for the next couple of miles but then the car works perfectly fine after that. Could this be a fuel pump why does it do this?
Is this the 1st time that it has occured, or does it happen everytime he fills up? If it is his first time. I seen a vehicle in my shop that had came in with slightly the same issue, there was bad gas/water in the gas at the gas station that he got it from. To check unhook fuel feed line and get an old water bottle and key on a couple of times into the bottle and watch the water seperate from the fuel. Water should be at the bottom as fuel is a lighter fluid.
had this problem..something is wrong with the fuel sensor or regulator whatever its called..just needs to be replaced or is hooked up worng. not a majpr peoblem, I ran this way for a couple months.
