i have a stock 08 wrx, when driving hard the car seems to have alot of pull til i hit third. it still pulls but seems like it really falls off. Is this normal on a stock setup? what can be done to correct it? do they make a full lenght belly pan?
Lower gears accelerate more than higher ones? WHAT?!?!?! Lol, jk. If it's just this week then it's probably the car reacting to the heat. You could always drive down to the cities and get Nuke to tune it...
Do you have a boost gauge?? From what I have found out, the 08 sedan (with the td04) is just like the 09+ forester, the wastegate spring is so soft that they blow open right away. Add the loss of boost along with the crazy heat then if you are on the stock maps, you will be running little to no boost. Russ
I figured the heat would play part of it. I currentlt don't have a boost gauage but it does feel like the boost falls off. I have 3" catback on the way should be here tommorow. not sure if I'm going to instal it right away. Do I need to have a ECU Tuner befor Nuke can do a tune? and how much does it cost to have him do a tune? Down the road i Small Turbo upgrade is in the plan been reading on what each will net me in boost numbers but still not sure which to go with.
These past week, cars have been down a bit. I suggest waiting for weather to get cooler and then trying it out. I can also take a look if you'd like. I have a wideband to log the air fuel ratio and a tactrix 2.0 cable to read and write to the ecu. I use a combination of Romraider and ecuflash.
Well my catback showed up gunna try to get it on tommorow while at work. and with some help from nuke i should be good til the money flow picks back up to buy more goodies.
