Cars on the dyno as I write this. The small 16g looks like it's only going to get be just below my goal of 250 whp. Howevever, after some basic upkeep: one step colder plugs, oil change, clean air filter, and O yeah, some E85, I'm hoping, hoping, for 280whp and about the same torque wise. That will have to wait for a bit yet though. For now I will have to do with out the torque I'm used to (from E85) and just enjoy the new power!

Are you doing this at RS? Dave got over 250whp on it. You should be very close to your goal power. GL with tune.

2nd to the "is it at RS?" question.

Dave's old turbo? What MY car ya' got?

Are you getting a full E85 tune, or just a pump gas tune?

Anyway, good luck, and post up a dyno graph when it's done :).

Getting it tuned at db, 248whp, 225ftlbs. Will post dyno graph when I get back home. That was just the pump gas tune, will get an E85 tune in a couple weeks. It's an 02 WRX.

Thats good power on DB's dyno. DB's a bit lower than Rons. My evo with basic bolt ons last year was 284hp at RS and 252hp at DB.

Can you clarify that? Your sentence says that DB's dynodynamics dyno reads higher numbers then RS's mustang (which is what I would expect), but your quoted numbers put DB's dyno lower then RS's.

What??? I honestly expected much better results! Last summer/late spring I put down 252/244 on the DB dyno only hitting 18.4 psi with MAJOR heat soak (blake has my old turbo- the 16g)

Congrats though, either way it's much better than stage 2:cool:

Well, an older car will typically put down slightly less power (although yours has/had a ton of miles), but I agree, the numbers could be higher..

Anyway, important part is that Blake's happy with the outcome :).

250ish on db is about right, about what the turbo should be making on a small 16g

I meant to say that DB's reads lower. The dyno dynamic dyno almost always reads lower numbers than the mustang dyno.

Well, debatable. DD's numbers are much more susceptible to change based on weather conditions, correction factor, etc. Thanks for posting your comparison numbers, though. Where the runs done in about the same outside temp?

This is the old E85 map on a td04

This is the new 92 octane map on the small 16g

As for the power, I was expecting about this on 92 on this dyno. My car seems to put down a little bit lower numbers all the time. In actuality I can't tell much of a difference between the power of my old turbo and the 16g. What I can tell is a huge difference the smoothness of the acceleration. That td04 just fell on it's face so soon up the rev range, not to mention it was totally maxed out at 20psi, it just never felt smooth. This small 16g is very linear in it's power delivery with almost no drop off at redline (2psi).

Yes they were done at about the same outside temp, within 10 degree's. Both runs were around 4 days apart from eachother too.
