I love seeing Skarecrow's work so I hope that wasn't towards him. I but I do see your point. I personally won't be driving Mona Lisa or Picaso on a race track. LOL

Although I might sometimes be intimidating, I am not fearful, and very approachable. A small but very important part of Musashi's life as noted in Japanese history is that after having defeated many challenges he quickly learned it was not worth a warrior losing his life over so he started using bamboo sword to prove his point.

Thanks for the idea. Its important for me to send the right message as I am usually around people who are very impressionable, some young and some old. Again I am open to just about any ideas at this point. I am still trying to capture the essense of Nissan's heritage and incorporate it with my own interests in an assertive track purpose fashion of a way.

Here is a link someone had suggested for some ideas.

Musashi, Thanks for posting that, I was about to as well. That is just a rough idea guys of what I can do. That design took about 5 minutes to design and was just a quick sample to show chong what all I can do besides just single color layered stickers. The wraps are open to your widest imagination.

Any High Res Photoshop design will work then all I do is send it to my Machine, Laminate the print, and spend lots of time applying it, to end up with a sweet result!

The photos posted on the other page of the boat, and the car with the flames and bird is some samples of how nice these wraps can turn out. Better than painting, because if you crash or get sick of it, its easy to replace or change. This can be waxed and made to look just like paint. A good way to go for race cars.

Alright not to go weirdo or Yoda on you guys and gals but let me try and help narrow some key points down. Much of what I've been doing or practicing on the track are along these lines. Keep in mind these are eastern philosophy so its not some religious mambo jumbo. I just find it fancinating and its helped my driving along with my students a great deal.

The imperfect circle logo is called a Zen Enso (also seen as Enzo or Ensu). Japanese for "circle", the Enso is a brushed-ink painting of a Zen circle. Some Enso's are drawn complete, and some have an opening; the opening signifies that the Enso is part of something greater. The symbol itself has many meanings:
    • The "circle of life" - the brush makes one stroke with a distinct beginning and ending. Yet the beginning, ending and all points between create something greater than the sum of the points into a circle that continues and transcends beginnings and endings.
    • Infinity, the All, the Void and Enlightenment itself
    • Expression of the Moment
      • In my karate class, I tell my students, "Once you understand how long a moment is, you are on the threshold of becoming an advanced martial artist." Time, or at least our perception of time, is malleable and plastic. Master your perception of time in a sequence of events, and you will begin to understand how long a moment is.
    • Seeking the truth This interpretation is interesting and is very Zen.
      • The ultimate goal of Zen is to achieve a state that is never seeking, desiring or striving. Yet new practitioners spend hours meditating, reflecting, etc. to reach a state in which there is no more seeking. Like a Zen Koan, this is seemingly paradoxical to our Western minds.
      • In the book, Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, the question is asked, "Is it better to travel or to arrive?" On our path to seeking an ultimate truth, do we get more value from the answer itself or the process and paths we used to arrive at the answer?
      • Dr. Schindler, a former Philosophy professor of mine, asked this question - "Does asking a question pre-suppose an answer?" For example, does the fact that we seek an ultimate truth necessitate the existence of that truth? For without the existence of that truth, how would we know to seek it?
    • When the circle is complete, it is empty.
      • In Zen meditation, one empties the self. When the self is emptied, we are ready to be made whole by enlightenment.
      • In martial arts, we need to train to learn a technique until it becomes automatic. The mantra is learn it and forget it. We fill the brain then empty it. Once the circle is complete, it's empty.
    • It is believed by many that the character of the artist is fully exposed in how he draws Enso, and that only one who is mentally and spiritually whole can draw a true Enso. Some artists will draw Enso daily, as a kind of spiritual diary. **

No offense, but you do a pretty mean quick and dirty job!

For the last two years I've designed my own Ice Race graphics in photoshop, this'll be year three. Last year's design ended up being exactly what the car looked like when completed. This year will probably be no exception.

That is still a 'rough draft.' I am working on elements of it right now, we'll see what happens when it is finished.

I tried to whip alittle something up in photoshop. although its not so good, I attribute that to the fact I am using a touch pad.

I found the second one somewhere and it looks pretty sweet.

I assume you're referring to my comment
"I hate those overly-detailed airbrushed things. They look cute at car shows when you're 5 feet away, but on the track or from a distance it just makes it look like the car is dirty."
    ?

That was mostly directed towards the Forza2 Ferrari at the top of page 3. It's "impressive" "art", but doesn't belong on that car.

Can we get the ORIGINAL side-view pic, before the marbling effects and number were added to it? (one with black-center wheels would be better (I assume they're currently black?), but that's easy to digitally alter)

Alright I think its time to post this on the Forza2 forums and see what they are able to come up with. I hear that some artists are just dying to see their art work come to life and I'm betting on it. This would be a great opportunity for everyone. I'll keep you guys posted. Thanks again!!!

hmmm okay i think i have an idea of what you want.

#1 white car with black text and red/orange accents that means something personal to you / is somehow related to musashi down the side or down one side of the trunk, kind of how the top part of this picture looks

#2 hokusai-style waves or mountains (did you see the car at HIN that had this on the hood? i haz pics somewhere if needed.)

#3 a samurai warrior towards the front of the drivers door holding a sword running the length of the car except midway down the sword you could have metal chunks flying off like it was shattering and revealing bamboo underneath. kind of like this guy's car (who i know and have seen the car in person) except take a lesson from him and make your graphics much bigger, because if i didn't tell you it was a samurai warrior with cherry blossoms, you probably wouldn't have recognized it and his car isn't even that far away. i would probably do just a close-up of the samurai face in profile which would take up 1/4 to 1/2 of the driver's door and the sword would maybe be about a foot tall so that way you wouldn't mistake it for a fairy like kevin's car.

kind of maybe use a face that looks like this with this type of a pose - i just can't find a good pic right now and i don't have photoshop anymore so i can't make anything purty :(

BossSTI-Cool ideas they are!!! I will keep them in mind.

Because this is a track car I really want to emphasis speed, control, balance and supremacy on the track. LOL And a hint of Musashi. I won't want people to get this car confused with Ricer.

I have a date with Dave for early next week and we'll go over some more ideas. I'll update this thread with our results. Thanks again!

    Hey Yeng,

Glad to see you found your way here, but I have a lot of friends here and I'd appreciate it if you could chill and not offend them. This is not like other forums, we'd like to keep the nonsense to a minimal. Just keep it real, there are some real good resources on this forum and you might find them very useful someday. Remember you can't help those who don't want to be help!

Let me know what you decide on your graphics.

You can do that on my Sentra once I get done with the bodywork ;)

It'll be red though, and no pinup girl. Styling a Japanese car after a WW2 allied bomber just seems wrong...
