    2009 WRX
    60k miles.

So, when i am stopped my car blows cool air. As soon as i start driving it blows hot. When the engine is warming up it will blow warm air while driving, as soon as i stop or drive under 30, it's cold. Once at temp, it is a noticeable drop from warm to cool when driving slow or stopped. Sometimes it's cold, sometimes it's cool air. Car runs at normal temp, no drops or fluctuation. Any ideas on what to check?

This just started and it's not every time. Also, recirculate seems to run warmer then open vent.

It doesn't matter if climate is on auto or manual settings. Hands feet or defrost as well.

Are you turning the temperature knob from hot to cold when it changes?

Sounds like you have air in the cooling system. Possible caused by coolant loss/leak.

Yeah, but it might have bubbles.

    LoL

Yeah, Nuke hit me up about that too. I will burp the system tomorrow and see if that helps. Too much running around to fix the sisters car tonight. Mine will have to wait till tomorrow. Thanks for the info man!

It makes sense... I had a lot of level changes with BIR and the summer temps. My overflow got too full a few times.

Odd, I'd definitely try burping. I have phenolic spacers, colder plugs and I'm on E with no heating issues. Does take a little longer than before to warm up though.

These items will not effect cooling system temp. Since you are using more fuel with E, I would say that MIGHT, but not much/or even a noticable amount.

So who's in need of a nice piece of cardboard now peppie lol

Do you have a high flow thermostat? It not it may be sticking open just bit enough to allow higher flow. I had similar problems back when I use to run one. With a small factory core, which in these temperatures does not allow the radiator and heater cores enough time to warm up.

    No everything is OEM.

I was low on fluid and had some bubbles. I burped the system over my lunch break. So far everyone is good.

Good luck pal, hope that was it.

ME too. I don't mind the cold, but I do not approve of cold air coming into the car when my daughter is riding along.
