Well, I just changed my spark plugs today (ngk 4793) and once I started it up, the motor shakes and makes a popping sound (misfire?). :eek4: Everything is put back on tight and nothing seems to be out of place. There is no cel either. I don't know what to check but maybe coilpack? Let me know, any help is appreciated. Thanks!

my guess is you havent got it on as correctly as you think... undo all the coils, and check all connection and make sure they are plugged in and so are the connectors

Also make sure you didn't flip flop the coilpacks (ie, put #4 pack on #2 cylinder).

Did you check the gaps on the new plugs? "Pre-gapped" just seems to mean: "We generally think that it would be nice if we manufactured and sold them somewhere in the vicinity of __ gapping." When I put my PFR6G's back in I had to make sure they were all the same at .028 Dunno that it would account for your issues, though.

Is that even possible? I thought you could swap coil's around. I know we did this MANY times with my STi to figure out which coil was bad.

You bet it will assuming you have the #2 pack from the #2 harness plugin hooked up to the #4 cylinder. :eek3:

LOL. I always take 2 seconds and mark each coil pack with a marker for this very same reason. Also, as someone may have mentioned...check to make sure the connectors are actually clipped to the coil pack.

It's all clipped. I've regapped all the spark plugs at .28. Still misfires and idles rough/shakes. I'm positive I've put the right coils in the right place...hrmm...I'm stumped.

Thanks for the replys though! I appreciated the fast responses!

the coil where the ground bracket is, has a slight chip near that gelly part. BUT I FIGURED IT OUT!!

I white and black clip harness were in the wrong coil slots on the driver side. Totally missed it as I kept looking at both sides, then realized the white clip was supposed to be near the front of the car and the black clip near the firewall...egh, you live and you learn! Thanks again guys!!
