Sounds like its going to be a good turn out. I brought the vr4 instead of the duramax to so a little more fun to be had. See everyone down there this morning
Well it would seem that people who shall remain unnamed for now decided their pretty normal not special car deserved to be in the show.
Congrats on your new role overseeing show entries to a free car meet. Luis and Tyler are fortunate to have you. I enjoy "car enthusiasts" who drive around in $30K cars, Subarus none the less, and judge other car enthusiasts. Very becoming.
I didn't name people cuz they should know who they are. Neither of the people you listed are who I was talking about
1. I posted that more for an ironic reason. 2. It is sad that I saw some very nice cars not parked in the show with less than mediocre cars parked in. The bright yellow lancer oz rally for example
The two people I named are the Cars and Coffee organizers. Look, someone is proud of their ride. So what if they park it in the line-up? Instead of passive aggressively ****ting on someone, be a man and toss them some props. Dropping it now..
Lol because the irony would be the person originally telling people with normal cars not to park in the even went and did that exact thing View attachment uploadfromtaptalk1399263031875.jpg
I know, I was trying to be discrete with it, but it's hard with how many people did park there thinking "is that mother ****er talking about me?"
I had a fun time with my wife and daughter. That Pantera that showed up was insane. Funniest thing to me was seeing GTR's and GT3's in spectator parking.
Great time like always. Well worth getting up early on a Saturday for. By the way, that Pantera was disgusting. And by disgusting, I mean ridiculous. And by ridiculous I mean, well you know. *fap fap fap*
Was it this Pantera? If so this thing sounds beastly!! And I have noticed that GTR owners nowadays don't care where they park on events. They don't feel like that their cars are prestigious so they freely park among the sub 50K cars. I saw many at the 12Hrs of Sebring pulling this stunt.
I agree! It was not only us that said this out loud. We heard 4 other groups of people saying... what the "f" is that doing in here......
Want that NSX so bad. I remember seeing it at the State Fair and it had a Ford sticker covering the front badge, haha.
My Forester is pretty normal but I'm one of the only Foresters around so I've gotta represent. My understanding is that it's a first come first serve thing, I was there at 6:45 so I could park in, if that means that someone with a more expensive car couldn't make it because I took their spot than maybe they should show up earlier.
Yep, completely missed the point. Cliff's Notes: If people want to see a plain Forester, they can get on any highway in Minnesota during morning and afternoon commute hours and see half a dozen of them. You don't get to see McLarens, NSXs, vintage 240zs, classics, and other assorted sports cars and rare cars every day. When people go to C&C, they are there to see what they can't see every day of the week driving to work. Again, don't be part of the problem that will eventually make C&C suck.
I read further along, still seems to be the same point as before. "Plain cars" need not apply. Sorry I can't afford a 100,000 dollar car. I show up early so I can show my car, I take pride in it, probably more pride than half the exotic owners there because I worked real damn hard to buy my car. It's not like it's a stock 2.5x either. It's a pretty rare car, XT Limited 5 speed, and it's also the only one there. Thought I'd give the Subaru section a little variety since everyone has an impreza. Exactly why I show up at 6:45. I make the effort to be one of the first people there in the morning.
Everyone works for their car and takes pride in it. Yes not everyone can afford a $100K car but like someone said if we want to see normal cars there are plenty on the hwy, at local grocery store, Wal-Mart, and at the Targets Like readymix said, CnC will suck. "Don'tr be part of the problem"
I don't even know where to start with that one. You're way, way off the mark focusing on how much a car costs. Even further off regarding how much work it is to afford an exotic, and who owns them. That's before getting into the man hours of effort for even finding some of those cars, let alone buying them. Bottom line, when it's an A/B choice between something that's going to make a lot of people smile or something that's going to make the owner and 2-3 others smile, I'll go the lots-of-smiles route. Which is why my car doesn't get shown even though I've only seen two others in person, ever. Zero that have been modified. Obscure quasi-rarity isn't enough to make random people smile. If I have to explain to everyone why they should care, they probably shouldn't/won't. Now at a straight up subaru meet where people are going to know what they're looking at and how unusual it is to see a 5th gen LGT, let alone modded? Maybe... Trying to convince people that it isn't selfish to show a pedestrian econobox with no significant modifications because damnit you have some pride is... eh... I'll go with "unlikely to be effective".
That lotus was killer. That's the one that got my kid to ask for my phone so he could take pictures. First time he's ever done that over a car.
Well if people really want to show their car and care, beat me to the gate if you want a spot. I'm there at 6:45 and have been for 3 years running. Even if I don't bring a car in. I have the same car as all the 04-07 Impreza guys do with a different skin. And trust me, I'm 100% positive the guys driving Aventadors and 458's are not living paycheck to paycheck to fuel a hobby that is burning a hole in their savings. Like I said, it's not like my Forester is stock, but it's not a 6 speed swap rotated turbo monster. Just figured instead of having 30 STI's and WRX's at cars and coffee I'd throw in a little variety. I've always been that way, I like to be a little different.
