I haven't made one all year yet...I shall try to make an appearance tomorrow. Where are yall planning on meeting up?
Clutch is already in. Now it's just a matter of getting up to pick it up from NF tonight. 99% chance I'll be going. 494/France meetup and cruise over?
I'm guessing you'll take 494 right passed France if you're heading over from Woodbury. It's a fairly "central" location for the last leg unless you're coming from the northwest metro. That said, I do have a billionty break in miles to get through before Tuesday...
Yeah we posted at the same time. I have never been to C&C before but i am guessing we would go that route.
I'm probably going to attend, pending that I don't have a massive hangover. 7am is a bit early for me, but I think I can find my way on my own.
7am on a Saturday is sh*tty early for everyone. BUT come on and caravan...because race car, subie love, etc.
Correct. Bobby and Steves. We used to meet in the Perkin's parking lot but that gets pretty full. I'd say either Bobby and Steve's since it's looking like a low turnout, or use the Staples parking lot "behind" Perkin's if there are more people.
Jamusix and I are going, but we were thinking of leaving South Minneapolis around 7...maybe we could rally earlier and make it to the carivan. I'll check in with him and see.
I'll be there but not sure if I'll be up early enough to meet-up beforehand. Riding the bike down, so parking won't be an issue for me, and it's a good chance to advertise that it's for sale.
Alright, we will meet up at Bobby and Steve's by 7am. I haven't been out to a C&C in 2 years... very excited! (We'll be in the black 04 WRX)
I'm thinking of going out. Anyone interested in meeting at Bobby and Steve's and heading out together?
Nope, always free. Search cars & coffee on the forums and you can get a good idea how people have felt about it around here. Decent time, bit of a cluster**** because it's so popular now. Definitely worth the hassle if you've never been.
Aww sweet, thanks old man! I think I'll be there, but don't know if I'll meet at Stephen and Roberts.
Edina I believe is where we met in the past. If we can meet there at 7:00 am and leave within about 10-15 min of that we shouldn't have a problem getting in
Usually people start leaving around 10:30. I have been one of the last ones out so that I can sit at the entrance and watch/hear everyone leave. Clears out around 11:30
Not really. There are a few unwritten rules however. Don't bring a dirty car, a car with a bunch of junk mods like fender vents or other cheap ricer crap, unpainted body kits, or a car that is rusted or in various states of disrepair. You may want to line the cars up in order of "most viewable to least viewable" as they will start turning you away if they have too many of one make...except 3 series Bimmers. One of the dudes that runs it is a german car fanboy, so if you were in the market for a BMW 3 series from any of the last three model changes, odds are you will see one of every color, year and trim there. It gets old, you just get used to it. The Infiniti G guys were notoriously bad about this one year, filling two rows with G35 sedans. Seriously, don't do this. If you are essentially a bolt on Subaru stage 2 Impreza, I'm sure nobody needs to see another one of those. Also, for the sake of everyone here on the Minnesota Subaru forum, please please PLEASE don't bring a stanced Subaru to this event. We would prefer not to be associated with that crap. Just keep in mind, on many instances of this event, there are tons of exotic cars parked in the main area. Ask yourself if the owners of the $200k+ cars want your hunk of crap parked near them in a parking lot. If the answer is anything short of "yeah, they wouldn't mind" then you should probably just stick to the spectator area.
Don't be sad. Cars and Coffee is an opportunity for car guys to see some really unique and exotic cars parked in one place...for free...once a month. As stewards of the Subaru car community, we need to be part of the solution, not the problem. Sure, there's nothing stopping us from hauling twenty, stage 2 WRXs and STis, along with a handful of ****box stanced out Subarus into Cars and Coffee and take over a quarter of the Japan/Asian car area. But why do that, you're filling the space with the same car over and over again and most of the cars are the same. And since it is first come first served, you wont be asked to leave. And meanwhile, some rare or unique car is getting shuffled into the spectator parking area because there's no room left. Better to leave space for other more unique cars. Everyone is proud of their ride. But it is good to have a level head about it. If you aren't breaking new ground with your car, then odds are there are already 3 like yours parked down there. Park down there if you wish, but let's not become the car community that drives there as a huge group and floods a unique automotive experience with our mundane, cookie cutter cars. This isn't a competition, it's an opportunity for car guys and gals of all walks of life to talk shop and look at unique cars. Nobody gets a trophy, there's no judges. Think about what kinds of cars you'd like to see at a free car show where ANYTHING can show up. Do you really want it to be a huge Subaru ass-patting show? Summer is nearly here, you can see that at least once a week at various spots around town. We have the LaCrosse cruise as well, that's 95-99% Subarus. Please, can we let Cars and Coffee be about seeing OTHER cars this year?
Wow good stuff! Thank you this is true and very good info. But looking at the weather forecast I'm guessing there will be a lot of subarus there!
When I think of CnC, I think of the little kid sitting in the passenger seat of some random guys Ferrari while he revs it and makes the kids day. Best to leave the Subarus at home.
