clutch issues after clutch replacement

    My car just got out of the shop after a warrantied clutch replacement and 30k service . When I picked it up the clutch felt funny to me, different than it did from the factory. I drove it home, and to work last night, and the clutch just has no resistance. It requires very little effort to push it all the way to the floor. It feels like I'm re-learning how to drive a 5 speed.

    I plan on returning to the dealership today, but does anyone have any idea what would cause this? Air in the lines? Alignment issues? Any ideas would help me a lot.

    Air in the lines would make for a spongy feel and not fully disengaging when pushed down to the floor. You can do a simple test for clutch disengagement by putting the clutch in, put it in first, then rev to like 5k, if the car creeps forward at all (with the clutch still to the floor), it is not fully disengaging.

    Sorry for the hijack- you have an '09 WRX right? What happened that you needed a new clutch? I have 14k on mine and am a little worried now... I found your posts on the "Rochester" thread that says the clutch, pressure plate, and TOB was done. Because of noise or something else? Thx!

    Sounds like air in the system, which is crazy because they shouldnt have had to mess with the fluid level much.
