Hey, first off I wanted to say I am pretty new here and love the site. I have a modified 2.0l vf34 wrx, pushing just under 300hp to the wheels. My excedy organic clutch went out after a couple thousand miles and I am looking to buy a new clutch immediatley. I have had bad experience with exedy clutches as their customer service is horrible and wish to stay away from them. Is there anything you all would recommend in light of my setup.

A few guys on here have been happy with their Spec clutches. I was thinking about an ACT until I found a deal on a Hyper Single. The Hyper Single is a pain to drive, but it holds nicely and the pedal is lighter than a stock STi clutch. I kill the thing daily though, making me look like a *******.

I have an ACT in my car, and the little bit I have driven it, I liked it. Stiffer than stock, and you pretty much are going or not, there's not a whole lotta slip in it at all.

Call up MAPerformance. They usually keep some clutch stuff in stock and their prices are hard to beat. Plus, they're local (Right off of 169 in Plymouth).

You weren't on www.yourscreenname.net were you? I used to live in Colorado Springs myself and am still pretty active on the pirate ship.

Yeah, I am from the Springs woot woot!. The pirate ship is my other home as well lol. Thanks for the info on maperformance. Called them up and they said the Fidanza 3.2 or 4.3 would be optimal. Anyone have any experiences with these.

You're never happy with it or never been happier with it, just to clarify.

kinda disagree on that statement...the sprungs are design for torsional vibrations for quieter operation while shifting. I don't have no problem whatsoever.

i thought having a sprung clutch meant that it was hard to make it a daily driver, was good for track and drag etc. racing and is like trying to push a fat kid out of the way every time you pushed your clutch in.. maybe i heard from the wrong guy but he had one on his dsm

Not even close.... for the daily driving, the sprung is the right choice for you while the solid actually running roughly on daily drive, but the good parts about them is that they produces more than 28% friction on torque capacity over organic clutches. I was to get the solid 6 pucks, since I'm driving the car over the spring to fall season. The guys recommended the sprungs. If you want it proof, come ride along with me......and see what I mean
