I am changing the slave cylinder that seems to have gone bad. This is what I am looking at:

Sorry about the low quality pics. Cell phone is all I have at the moment.

The dark spots are fluid, and the hose seems to be covered in it. Could just the hose be leaking?

Is there a tool I need to take off the hose. Or would a pliers do the trick? I guess I am not really seeing an obvious way to do it. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Dont know about the service procedure on that. But it does look like its just the hose or gaskets leaking.

Also the angle of that hose looks terrible. Has it been replace or moved recently?

It hasn't since I bought the car a year ago. Before that is anyone's guess.

When I brought the car in to Subaru in Sioux Falls a week ago, the tech there commented on the hose position. He said I should replace it soon because the way it is now is bound to fail.

Wasnt sure of the make of the car... but this is the 2.5 NA slave cyl set up.

That is what your hose is suppose to look like. If you do replace it, make sure you get new banjo bolt washers. And be prepared to bleed the system. I hear that bleeding the clutch is a pain in the arse.

Yea but the hose is suppose to go out and down. NOT Down, around and down some more.

Sorry.. I have an 02 Wrx, but the diagram does look the same. And 37251 would seem to be the part I would need.

If I would go to say NAPA or somewhere similar would the line and the fittings all come as one? Or would I need to order each piece separately?

The hose did have a hole in it. Right near the top where it connects to the hard line. At the angle it connected at it was hard to see. But once I could straighten the line out, it was easy to see. Since I have a new slave cylinder I might as well replace it.
