So I went ice fishing the other day (got skunked), and on my way there I had to shoot a small gap in traffic. Well I'm not use to driving the car with boots on yet, and definitely slipped my clutch quite a bit on accident. It was a sweet launch tho lol. But that was a few days ago, and I still smell that horrible smell of burning clutch when I drive. Even if its just to put my car in the garage from the driveway. I'm thinking I probably glazed the clutch pretty good, but I was wondering if its normal to smell burnt clutch days after the glazing occurred? Doesn't appear to be slipping at all, just stinks.
Well when clutches do burn, they stink something fierce. Maybe try to park it in garage with all windows down over night, Febreeze, then check again in the morning? If the smell is still there after that...it would raise more questions. But since it's winter time, it's probably gone into your hvac(if you are recircing), and your windows have probably been up most of the time since the incident, it could just be lingering.
I can't smell when I get in my car if it hasn't been running for a while. I can fire it up and let it run to warm up with no smell. But a quick trip around the block and back and I can smell it inside and outside the car. And in my garage.
Well I drove up to Little Falls, then all the way down to Ramsey, and back home today. Noticed the smell at my first couple stops. But, the car is now back in my garage, and it is SMELL FREE! Lol. Didn't think it would take that long for the smell to go away. But now I know. Probably 200 miles +/-
Try driving in combat boots or even worse dress shoes...Had to drive my WRX up to Bemidji for a military ball...ended up stopping in Redwing to change into tennis shoes because I couldn't stand the constant slipping off the clutch pedal.
You pussies. If tangledupinblu can daily drive in hooker boots without burning the clutch, so can you!
I think you should start a driving school. "Tangledupinblu's hooker heels driving school for newbs" FTW!
I should, that's what "heel/toe" driving is all about! I could teach a "drifting in your flip flops 101" class also if anyone is interested.
