Flashed my Spec.b with stage one yesterday and the car runs much smoother now and pulls harder. The difference is not huge but noticeable. I know people with 04-07 lgts notice a huge difference but 08 owners dont. I thought i share the experience with stage one. Soon will install a down pipe and we'll see how much difference that makes.

What made you choose the a/p over say and open ecu tune for a fraction of the cost?

Just sounds like a more professional way of doing it. The new cable just came out like 2 days ago and i dont think openecu tuners have a lot of experience with 08's yet. Cobb comes with warranty and i can get a protune from the best of the best. And i love the little gadget.

Thanks. I do like the car a lot. It sucks to get a scratch on a new car tho.

Really? I cant wait to put the DP in. With 6-speed the acceleration should be pretty quick. Does anyone know where i can get exhaust wrap and sealant locally?

You will notice a difference after DP for sure. My 08 WRX with AP stage 2 and DP is nice. It drives much smoother now. I bet you can't wait to put that DP in. :yumyum:

The Tactrix 2.0 cable that supports canbus is not out yet. It is projected to be released at the end of the month. Obviously, 07+ LGT and 08+ WRX tuning will be new ground for the open source folks once the cable is released.

I know the reason I used the AP on my LGT was so that I could bring it into the dealership without them hassling me about mods on my car. The dealership technically installed it.

i wanted a new spec.b and its hard to find a used one. Stage 2 gives a "very" big increase in power.

"I" mode feels pretty much the same "S" mode feels closer to "S#" before the flash and the "S#: mode now feels much smoother no jerking anymore at all and the car pulls much harder all the way to redline.

I ran AP stage 1 in my 08 sti, and it was huge difference!
then got my invidia downpipe and flashed to cobbs stage 2 and another big difference.

The LGT's si drive must be alot different than the new sti's, If i put it in I mode it runs of WG boost. S mode is like 16psi and s# is 18.5 @ stage 2.
So far i love the car!

I drove a spec b at St. Cloud subaru when i ordered my sti and i liked it alot, but i couldnt turn from the sti.

haha, totally the other way for me. I test drove the sti for a 2 days and could not turn down the spec.b.
I love the si drive. in "I" its super slow and is great in heavy traffic or on a highway when saving on fuel. And "S" is freaky now and i am not driving in S# much cause the car is just too responsive( not that is a bad thing) in bumper to bumper traffic.

I agree, in the sti there really isnt any change in I from S# in gas milage from what i can tell, as long as you shift at the same rpm then it doesnt really matter.

Beleive me, if i had the money i'd have both a sti and a spec b.
I guess it all depends on if you want more of a race car or more of a luxery car.
