So Cobb says their downpipe scales to your stock 2.5" CB exhaust--but, it will still fit to an aftermarket 3" CB exhaust.

In other words, it tapers from 3" to 2.5". Does the Perrin DP also taper from 3" to 2.5" or is it a full 3"?

This kind of info is so hard to find on forums like IWSTI and NASIOC because they're so f'ing huge.

Perrin DP does not taper. 3" all the way.

TurboXS also makes a great exhaust for Subarus. 4in downpipe to 3in back.

I have heard this is the case. Bullwinkle pointed me in their direction. I think I'm going to go with a TurboXS downpipe and a catback from Maddad--the Whisper.

Just watch out with mix matching different brand exhausts. When I had the turboXS DP on my 04, you could not bolt up other brands to it because they used a doughnut style gasket, while everyone else uses just a regular 3" style. That may have changed now, but I would call and check.

Side note, your car looks great. I was checking it out when driftin240 was installing your boost gauge.

Good advice. I was considering getting the V2 downpipe that Maddad also offers as part of the deal. They say it reduces the chances of boost leak and such. My goal here is to increase flow with as little noise as possible. Hence, the decision to go with a Maddad Whisper. Bullwinkle seems to like it on his '06.

Oh, thanks Subytek! I'm pretty happy with it. Had enough space with the hatch to get my 18" summers home in one go. That alone was worth it for me. Now it's time to tune the **** out of it and get to some driving schools/clinics.

Yeah, this is good advice. Josh was looking at the whisper for the '08 STI, which, if I can read correctly, seems to come with both a donut and flat flange swappable midpipe (?!). Anyway, looks like a very nice exhaust!

If you want the power without the sound Maddad is the way to go. Also get a highflow cat, that will help keep the sound down a little more without robbing you of too many pony's.
