The coolant in my reservoir is getting kinda low and since I bought it ~30,000 miles ago (now at 157,000) I figured it'd be best to do a flush.

I've been reading around this forum and legacygt and I've ran into more questions than answers.

    1) There doesn't seem to be a concise answer as to where I should I be using the Subaru Blue, Subaru Green or different but correct stuff from O'Reilly?

    2) I don't have any signs of HG problems but I figured I would be safe and add the conditioner just as a preventative measure, is there any reason why I shouldn't add it?

    3) Does anyone have a step-by-step for doing a complete flush on a 99 legacy? (How bad is it to use the water from a faucet to flush out the system?)

    Thanks!

Subaru coolant conditioner doesnt help on internal gasket leaks.

Glad to hear, saves me the worry about that gunking up anything.

    Any preference on the coolant?

Just had my coolant changed at Morrie's a couple weeks ago and the service writer said the techs don't use the Subaru Coolant Conditioner anymore.

Sounds good, I'll be in there after work today to pick some up. I also think I will need some tensioners, pulleys, and belts but can get into that later...
