Looking for a diagram for the coolant lines under the hood. Basically I'm wondering if coolant runs thru the throttle body.

Go feel around the TB for rubber hoses. Are you wondering so you can bypass them?

Look at the black hardpipe that runs along the edge of the head and block on TOP of the motor. There you'll see a small hardpipe from out from it, then a rubber hose connected to it via clamp. It'll run and turn a few turns and come to the throttle body. The exit will come out and into the crossover pipe.

I just by pass it by connecting those hoses from the little black hardpipe to the crossover.

Why do you need to bypass it?

I dunno if anyone has dont a comparsion for the bypass. I would like to see how effective the bypass is at lowering the air temp.

That little bit of heat you actually get from the small amount of coolant circulating through the TB is a drop in one very large bucket. Clean the dirt and bugs out of your intercooler if you are that worries about it.

Shibbs, I'm not so sure they even run coolant through the DBW throttle bodies. I haven't taken a look at one on a WRX in a while, so I could be wrong. Even if they did, like everyone else has said...it's a tiny bit of coolant, which can't superheat your throttle body.

ZOMG, don't do it. Your throttle body will freeze shut.:biggrin::laugh:

Man, if I had a dollar every time I heard that, I could buy everyone a new car.

Truth. I did it in my Fiero (rear-engine, intake on the rear quarter panel, true cold-air from the factory) and it made a decent difference in throttle response. And it didn't freeze shut like everyone said it would.
