Yia - Lake that is just north of White Bear Lake.

Fuji - Shore or boat - Cast, jerk and reel on plastic jig - Lots of people(mostly not catching probably because of the weight if their sinkers and bait) - 4"-12"

go without telling us...... when I go bass fishing in the couple of weeks and Musky fishing, I'll keep quiet too.

    [evil laugh]muahahaha[/evil laugh]

Went to Cannon Falls yesterday, I caught nothing but the rest of us did. Sucked for me. Then whe new got back home, trees where on houses, broken branches here and there. AND we lost power to our house.

yia, bass is biting everywhere... depends on how big you want them... I usually keep only 1 of 10 even if I caught a lot of big ones... unlike crappies, it's harder to cleam/gut bass than it is crappies...

    To Fuji's Brother:

Lakes around here that have big bass...
    1. Powers Lake - Woodbury, take 94 then exit and take a right on County Road 19 then 1-1.5 miles down the lake is on the left not boat accessible, carry on canoe is possible.
    2. Sunset Lake - White Bear Township, take 61 north and turn right on 96 going east, not west, then take a left on Portland Ave then turn right on 117th St and the lake should be about 1.5-2 miles on the left of the road not boat accessible, carry on canoe is possible.
    3. Gervais/Phalen Chains of Lake(surprisingly) - you know where this is.

Any other bass I catch is by luck around here... at places such as Snail Lake, Island Lake, Turtle Lake, Mississippi RIver, St. Croix River...

I will call Fuji and Yia next time I go...GOOD LUCK!!!

Thanks alot Kong, greatly appreciated. I've fish some of those lakes before, but only caught itty bitty little ones. I'll try harder next time.

You mentioned 24" bass, isn't that somewhere in the neighborhood of the state record? Cuz the state record is only 23.75".

    Anyways have fun. Thanks again.

true, but it depends on how big the girth of the fish is... before the season was open, we caught some big 24+ with big girth, after they were open, they dissappeared into the deep... i'm guess if you want to catch the big ones during the open season, it would have to be in mid to north MN somewhere... probably milac's or red lake or some small hidden lake somewhere... good luck though
