    2003 WRX wagon....

A while back I noticed that my cruise quit working. The master switch lights up, but the cruise is not activated by the steering column knob. The light on the dash does not come on.

I am going to tear into it soon, but I was wondering if there is a common gremlin that I should know about. All of the connections and vacuum lines look ok. I am assuming the problem is upstream of the module anyway. Column switch? I have the clutch switch bypassed and the cruise worked fine that way for about 8000 miles. I have not changed anything on the car since.

    Anyone?

I think there was Cruise control modules that were being replaced, but don't quote me.

A google search revealed that a common problem is a missing plastic plug in one of the two clutch switches. Ok......I have to get under there and check it out.

There should be a switch on the brake pedal too, isn't there?

Finally got around to looking into this. The clutch switch is fine, but the plastic plug that is secured to the pedal and contacts the switch was broken. This took a whole five minutes to repair.
