So its a bit of a strange story, I bought this Silver 2000 2.5RS coupe I think off of a member here, but I cannot find the post. Close to new years 2016. I got it because it was nicer than my current (at the time) silver 99 RS. It needed an engine due to headgasket failure and popped out of 5th gear. I never really drove the car or fixed the car because my plans changed, so I borrowed some parts from it for my 99RS and posted it for sale. 15726559_1633256320021472_2411145088582276198_n.jpg 15726559_1633256320021472_2411145088582276198_n.jpg 15732639_1633038666709904_7823019445972425100_o.jpg 15732682_1635186129828491_8693485652760076932_o.jpg 16715875_1719760718037698_1963324697022183319_o.jpg
I sold it after taking a few parts from it. To a friend who put a good engine into it to resell. Which he did. This being early early 2017. I saw it driving around once and my dad even sent me a picture of it once. But that was that.

Early this spring I got a lead on a silver 2000 2.5rs coupe, was told it needed a clutch, owner was off to basic training and did not want to deal with it. Turned out to be this exact same car. Few things had changed, new tires had been put on to the 1991 legacy wheels that I swapped onto it and it got a bit more rusty.

I drove it home and it drove perfectly fine besides still popping out of 5th gear very rarely.
    158039424_6082925288387864_6114337362575443163_n.jpg 158519244_6082925178387875_355456638441656080_n.jpg 157789771_6082925495054510_2080516149976671283_n.jpg 157720907_6082925425054517_1224215888806955100_n.jpg

It came with a brand new uninstalled Apexi catback and Uel header, so I installed that along with a cat delete pipe that I had, made it the loudest thing ever.
    158223381_6075326012481125_4191227380672278328_n.jpg

I daily drove it for a few weeks, it needed brakes fairly bad so I put some LGT big brakes front and rear on, with some 17inch Speedlines.
    158676962_6082925641721162_5830080951180062402_n.jpg
And im at my picture upload limit. So I will continue.

I also put foglights and an ebay lip in/on. When I bought the car originally it did not come with foglights, when I sold it I included foglights but they did not come with the car when I bought it again.
I also put the missing skirt on from my collection.

At that point I decided that I might as well recreate my old Silver and black 2.5rs which I had now sold in 2019. (my 2nd car, and this one having been my 4th back in 2016, im still fairly young at 24 lol)
It would not be as nice but a cheap recreation of the car I had right out of highschool. So I added a V6 wing, did all the clear lights, JDM tail lights (still available brand new from the dealer fyi), and I cringe plastidipped the hood, roof and trunk black, like I did my old one.

If some remember that car in the background, it was an EJ20g swapped 2.5rs. I had borrowed the engine for my 92 turbo legacy station wagon, but during winter a few friends came over and we put a newer JDM forester EJ20g engine in for giggles. That car was far too rusty to save so I got a bad idea in my head to swap this silver one.

So both cars being 2000 2.5rs coupes I was able to steal the already merged harness for this swap. I also used a 4.44 JDM sti transmission that I had.
Earlier I forgot to mention that I put KYB AGX struts with Eibach springs in as well. (Which happen to be exactly what I had in my old RS. Full midlife crisis spec build at 24 years old)

The cat is named "Mama Kitty" when we moved to our new house she was a stray near where we lived. Us being cat owners obviously fed her, so she stuck around, she was shy at first but she became very friendly, winter time came and we let her into the garage to be warm, Spring came and she was in heat, we tried to keep her in the garage, but she escaped and came back pregnant, with 7 wonderful (and fairly large kittens which all now have homes, we kept one, his name is kitty kitty). Anyway, she as been my garage companion and very good friend since then. Like come on, what cat stays asleep inside a car while you install a dash.

    Alright back to the show.

I bought this cheap used no name catback, not knowing it sounded like garbage, but its on and it works.

As the car sits its a WRX wagon 20g or a Forester 20g longblock with a pretty dang rare v2 Type ra header, Earlier 20g intake, TD05 90 degree inlet, 550cc injectors with a chipped ecu.

I also totally forgot to mention I put my JDM v3 STI VLTD seats in with my V3 STI steering wheel (same wheel as 22b flexx).

    Ive added spats as well.

If you notice this door is a different shade of sliver, that would be because I took the nicer door off of this current car and swapped it on to my old one. So this current car now has my ****ty old door on it. Karma maybe?

Here is some noise if you want to hear how bad that turboback sounds. I think I also forgot to mention, the car didnt need a clutch like the guy said that it did, It was totally fine, so that would be why I daily drove it stock for a while.

That other car in the last video is a friend of mines car, its also EJ20g with a td05.
My Antilag was much more spicy than his.

These are some pics of my old one

This is about what it looked like when I sold it, CF wing (purchased off of this blessed forum).

This is when I first got it running, it was a 99 5mt. timing had skipped. I replaced the valves and it was my daily driver after that. $650 off of craigslist, I have a printout of the ad actually.

This is when the original trans (170ish k miles) decided that the center diff did not want to function anymore, it was undrivable if you were not on the throttle. I made it to work but had to tow it home.
This trans actually lives on with a new center diff in my friends 98 2.5rs. pictured below probably ( the black one)

This would be when I got rearended driving home from my last day at work, working in North Minneapolis, I worked 94 and Broadway so it was never good. Fun fact though, when I went to get the current silver RS, it was only about 5 minutes from my work at the time.

If you have stayed this long I personally thank you for your time and I am sorry for my trip down memory lane.
    93879192_4570832592930482_7133162233013469184_n.jpg
    ALL THAT SALT :(

It was not that hard of a hit, I was the 4th and last in a chain from someone else being rearended. So it could have been much much worse, it broke my stupid exhaust (stuck out way too far and was just uel, catless, cherry bomb, rusty blast pipe), and bent my rear bumper beam. Didnt hurt my trunk or JDM tail lights, but the exhaust broke a chunk out of my spat.

Man this is really memory lane, because it just keeps coming. If you noticed way earlier,(sorry about the double picture, nothing I can do about it now), the current car was towed to my house originally by an AAA towtruck. It just so happened to be the EXACT same tow truck driver that towed my current RS that came to remove the cars involved in my rearending. He said "Hey Quinn! I wished the next time I saw you that it would be a better circumstance."

I was not too upset about this ordeal because I got a really nice insurance check and I had a JDM smooth rear bumper and Lightweight beam that I had purchased years earlier (thank God I did not put the jdm beam and bumper on eariler because my car would have been unfixable.)

I believe what we have here is a quarter life crisis. I like the kitty, I wish mine was chill enough to hang out in the garage with me. Cheeto would end up rolling in a rust pile or something.

More cat content. Im back from the Ojibwe Forest rally, so time to try and find time to do things again. Car has been sitting for a bit due to me borrowing the maf/filter and ECU for my 92 turbo legacy while I get another tuned ecu. Just sitting in the sun this car started leaking coolant from the radiator cap on the waterbox. kinda funny.

New old catback, the one from the old blue, green, red 2.5RS. Its a slip fit with a pretty decent leak but it sounds way better now. I forgot how quick this car was.

Alright, so I drove it around for a decent while with the V2 STI swap. But I happened upon a cheap V5-6 EJ207 with wiring harness. So naturally I wanted to try that out. Happened to be on the exact week one year after I put this one together. 281544151_8463215797025456_6431512630940288784_n.jpg 307232263_3360915587561416_6765917748073840389_n.jpg 309414799_1043465006328390_830122684360419834_n.jpg 282048435_8490469560966746_3313670850717597829_n.jpg 282173631_8490470884299947_5695586927024659347_n.jpg 282145529_8490472020966500_379791043599786433_n.jpg

I put it all together, it ran ok, shaky idle, pulled pretty good but it for sure had a missfure. checked comp and cyl 2/4 had 0 psi. Surprised honestly.

Pulled it all back apart, I actually had v6 STI cyl heads with low miles on the shelf already so I was able to pop those on and I was good to go! Paired all that with a J2 Prodrive tuned ecu (Also on the shelf) it runs pretty good! vf28, i have not hooked up a boost gauge to it yet and in not using the front mount that I had installed on the V2 swap. Im sure ill mess with it more but ive been so darn busy lately.

My apologies for probably a dumb question, but by "pop them on" did you actually just take the junk ones off and toss on some others you had laying around, or did you have the "new" ones machined and gone through and all that jazz first?
