Plus its really easy to drain some water out and get a bag of ice.

For heat transfer water is a better medium for heat transfer. There are alot of other things that people dont consider when it comes to intercooler design that still apply.People only think full throttle and in reality almost all of your driving is at low/part throttle.

well i think of how i drive my car. i put a big turbo on there to make power for when i go racing. which is allot of full throttle pulls. and the way i thought of it was do i really want to be switching out water and add ice every ware i go. for daily driving and low part throttle you don't really need to have colder temps. it matters when you try to make power. and for me, to get to a race can take a while and you usually aren't racing back to back you are playing catch up to the people that raced. which would just be heat soaking water and not getting the gain that you would want for a water to air setup.

what do you guys plan to do for trying to keep he heat out?

Water has a much higher thermal conductivity than air, .58 vs. .024. Ethylene glycol by itself is in the .12 -> .15 range. Mixed with water it would be higher.

Air to water can be just as efficient, if not more when designed properly. Efficiency of the radiator, airflow across it, flow of the pump, among other things are all considerations. You also have to consider the lack of IC piping which can help your overall flow and efficiency of the system. If you turbo has to work less to flow the same air, your temps coming out of the turbo will be less in the end.

Basically, we just need to wait and see.

Cruising around part throttle, the liquid air wont even heat up. Not having a big front mount also helps to keep coolant temps down so there's even less heat to keep out.

Since its all connected to the motor it should be fairly rigid. It will all move together. That is a tight fit though. I don't think Suabru had 40R's in mind when they designed the car. Or did they.....

I know its been a while now but this car has had nothing but bad luck. We had to send the engine back for a rebuild long story. Finally put some street miles on it and went on the dyno for the some power.
For now its at 16 psi full boost at 4k and made 400whp. I will post graph when we run more power in it. This is the teaser month and April will be full boost 600whp or nothing.

Sorry for not updating this for a while. The owner pretty much enjoyed the car since we got it done but now wanted an earlier spool. We maxed out the fuel system last time at 468 and just left it at a lower boost level until he was ready to upgrade. Since then we switch out the turbo with a 6262 T4 and 2150cc injectors. Now we are closer to that goal at 31 psi. Current numbers 555whp and 512 wtq. I'm waiting for the 2.6 hydra upgrade but probably not until next year.

Very attainable. Seems to be the story this year for getting to that high hp goal. These boxer engines use a lot more fuel than the conventional 4 banger. I can usually push the 1000cc or 1200cc in the 500s with dual pumps but not with subarus.

since we havent seen this in a while; I was wondering if we could see some pics of the new turbo setup? I have heard you were planning to use 2000-2400cc injectors for the E85 setup also... I am curious about the custom fuel pump design... can we see some pics of that too?

Try a little patience, Ronnie doesn't visit the site as much as you may think he does. You've been here for some time ya? Maybe start a thread telling us a bit about yourself in the welcome mat. It's starting to feel like you are trolling for something in here.

What do you need to know about the fuel system? It's a simple dual walbro pump that's it's had since the first time it ran. The car had also been on e85 since day one. The set up didn't change much. The turbo was replaced and injectors upgraded to bigger ones. Whatever pics you see now is how the car looks now. Waiting to upgrade hydra for more boost. It's capped at 29-31 psi at the moment. Hydra 2.5 only reads up to 31 psi load.

when i saw the car last year it did not look like any of the pictures shown here! fitment of the WG is terrible. So much that you guys had to notch out a chunk of the intercooler. also the fitment of the new BOV you guys installed is rubbing the stock intake manifold so much that it has almost punched a hole right through it. should i mention the water tank in the car is just flopping around in the wheel well?! what else should i mention about the terrible work that was done to this car. you guys screwed him over and should be paying him back for the years of trouble you have given him.

    SHAME ON YOU

also the owner was told that there was a custom fuel pump installed not just some off the shelf twin walbro setup. and if any of you have actually seen/been in this car, you would know that it smells like straight alcohol! a curious person went to take a look at the top of the fuel tank access, and what did he see?! top of the fuel tank open with the stray wires everywhere! he said that looks kinda sketchy lets try something.... turned the key on and went to go look.... there was fuel spraying everywhere!@!! none of the fittings have clamps on them, all the fittings were loose, i mean come on! what kind of workmanship is that? you let a customer drive around with a ticking time bomb huh? yeah that makes me want to bring my car down to RS in a hurry....:p
