Here's my newest toy! I picked her up in upstate New York Monday night and was back in Minneapolis 24 hours later. 2006 Subaru Forester XT Limited 5 speed manual 75,000 miles Unmodified I picked the car up from a Subaru dealership but they happened to know a lot of the history. The car was a 1 owner, who happened to be an older gentleman. They acquired full service records for me and the compression came up great. All in all, the deal seemed too good to be true, but apparently it wasn't. The only issue on the car is some rock chips and scratches. Modifications will be mild at best, mostly focused on suspension. I plan to eventually convert from a limited to a sports trim. If you look closely at the two pictures, you might make out the first mod. I will take some decent pictures when weather permits. Stay tuned for more!
Subscribed. Congrats on your purchase! Excited to see where this goes. I'd like to get a foz in the future!
nope nope, but I do need to get it repainted. I swapped for 03-05 tail lights. Its hard to tell with all the dirt
I never thought I would have to say this, but I am bout to whip out a spindle of blank cds and burn some discs, cause Fozzy doesnt have an aux port.
That's one thing I'm wanting to do w mines. Also add a sports bumper and grill onto the gold beast. Lol. What suspension will you plan to go with?
I just picked up a set of feal revalved sti struts. I will pair those with a set of sti pink springs. If those dont work for for me, I plan on switching to KYB agx's or Dspecs.
I picked up a new stereo to cope with the whole no-aux bull****. I will post up pictures and a review soon.
I finished some upgrades this week. Tokico d-specs, STi springs/top hats, and paranoid fabrication saggy butt spacers for suspension. The stereo is a new NEX series head unit from Pioneer. It offered the best hybrid of desired features and the price was hard to beat. I am waiting to give a more depth review until I am used to the HU and a firmware update to add Apple Carplay. Next up is some new rims/tires for summer and to install an Sti rear sway bar.
Here are the others I snapped. I didn't even attempt to take good pictures because of time/weather. Hoping to take some decent ones this week.
I like the one of you getting Jordan in tha butt... Side pics are much better! The stance looks good!! Now ya just need those reeyums! Should have thrown the Team Dynamics on her. Was that 2nd pic at Napa on Lyndale?
I have tried a few times to get my old foz back... but the girl who bought it wont sell it as it has never given her one issue since buying it... I miss my baby
Beautiful FXT! How dark are the front tints? Love the stance of it as well. Any power mods? Still jealous of your FXT though
Your Forester is really coming along nicely. I'm looking forward to the progress on this. I'm thinking a few of us will have to get a Forester photo shoot together sometime. Have you decided on the wheel choice yet??? How do you like the Feal re-valves and sti spring combo for daily driving??
I ended up going with Tokico Dspecs instead of Feal Revalves. The Tokicos are great with a very soft ride @ 6 (1 firmest, 6/7 softest) which is slightly firmer than stock and a firm but compliant ride @ 4. I also installed the sti rear sway bar which has improved body roll but there is still a significant amount of roll and nose diving. I will probably at some point install a larger front sway bar and potentially replace the STI springs with ground control springs and adjustable tophats so I can dial in a more favorable ride height and have a better spring rate for the dspecs. As for rims and tires, I was hoping to get a set of rpf1's in 17x8 and mate them to 245/45r17 tires but I am now worried that I will have fit issues. I was hoping to have new wheels and tires for my road trip next week but I will just have to burn up the ****ty Kelly All Seasons I am running now.
What suspension are you running? Ride height? I'm running stock Sti springs and Sti sway bars so I am worried even at my ride height, I'll get rubbing in turns. Maybe if it's possible, sometime I could test fit your wheel setup on my fozz to see how fit is.
I ran 19s on mine with wrx suspension and never had any issues... and I live on country roads and played in the field mud a lot...
This forester is still one of the reasons I went after a forester when I needed a 4 door vehicle for an expanding family.
Sorry it took me so long to see this, I got it from a junk yard is west virginia. It took a lot of calling, but I got it for cheap! Pioneer released a firmware update for my head unit. After I get it installed, I am going to push a large update to this thread.
