I'm having a problem with the electrical this weekend.

My dash lights/HVAC are out as well as my tail lights. The brake lights work though when you press the brake...

Any ideas? I pulled every fuse in the car and all looked good. I also was able to cycle the relays from the hood fuse box so those are good. I wasn't able to find my answer on the nasioc boards.

    Thanks!

Duh, I suppose that would help!

1999 RS. I pulled all the fuses under the steering wheel, and pulled all the ones in the fuse box in the engine bay. I even replaced the illumination fuse even though it wasn't toast. Is there another fuse box on this car? I'm only aware of the two just mentioned.

    Thanks!!!

    Anyone, please?

I'll do a small powder coating job (freebie) for someone if they can help fix it this weekend....

My next guess would be the combo switch. But I'm pretty bad with electronics.

it's basically the headlights/dimmer/turn signal stalk.

have you checked the relays too? this happened with my explorer and a relay popped up and just needed to push it back in.

They have all been checked, I was able to cycle them remotely with a 6V battery I had laying in the garage. I also swapped it with the same part# relay found in the same fuse box.

The headlights work, as do the turn signals. Im stumped. Everything tells me this is a fuse/relay but it isn't. I might have to take it to the dealer and bend over.

it may only be part of the combo switch that is burned out though.

this exact thing happened to me in my old(er) Dakota, all the fuses, relays, everything were fine, i replaced the combo switch and nothin. If you have an ohmmeter and an electrical wiring diagram, test the wires themselves, we had it narrowed down to a break in a single wire behind the dash. Never ended up fixing it, tranny blew very shortly after. start testing wires and see what isn't providing the power its supposed to and go from there.
