Optiseal: Easy to work with, excellent shine, glossy. Usually put it over wax to seal everything in. Lasts all summer on a daily driver parked outside.

Opticoat: Much more permanent, harder to work with, dull finish that needs wax/qd over it. Really need to polish the finish down to perfection before applying. Dont recommend this on DD's since it's a pain to take off and you'll have to redo the whole process when you inevitably get more scratches.

Both have their place depending on the goal.

Hey, I will be looking to get both of our cars done again. The FXT will be needing some extra work this time since the whole drivers side is new paint/panels. Let me know what will work for you.

No. They wanted $1100 for a replacement hood. For that kind of money, the dent stays. They said they have a really hard time finding the turbo hood because so few of them were made.

Got a really late start this year but things are in full swing now. Pm me if youre interested (kongzilla, youre up next... Sigh... Lol). Weekends are pretty booked this month but weekday evenings are free.

Thanks Glenn, Russ, Russ' better half, and Luexa. Pleasure working on you cars.

Anyway, here's something a little different...

    Do you do PDR also?

The initial post doesnt list it, but I figured I'd ask anyways.

No I don't do PDR. There are a few recommendation threads on this forum though. I've seen quite a bit of work come through the highly recommended shops in those threads and all of them did quality work. Customer experience seemed good as well.

    A tiny bit off topic.

I went to Twin City Detailing months ago….. I had them detail my car, also wanted them to touch up the paint chips on the hood/bumper and put a clear bra on.

Well months later i am finally getting my money back and the clear bra removed next Monday. They forgot to touch up the paint when they put the clear bra on. There is rust spots on the hood and thats under the clear bra!!

Sometimes i don't do my research, sure wish i would have on this situation.

The owner of Twin City Detailing (Dave) has multiple convictions, including insurance fraud when he crashed a clients Lambo on a joy ride and assault to name a few.

I just want to pitch him in the face. Maybe i will after i get the money in my hand.

I'll be getting the bra removed, money back, touch up paint by Precise Bumper and Chip, clear bra by Bravo Tint and will have you detail my car at the end of it :)

Shall i pm you when i am ready?

    Matt

I have a couple questions, how much luck have you had getting salt out of the cars carpet and what products do you or have you used that has worked the best at getting the salt out of the carpet. Ive got some carpet cleaning stuff but want to see what you think.

Take a look through the thread. Pretty much have to add steam cleaning to the mix to get salt stains out.

I have gotten real bad salt deposits out with one of those bissel Wet/dry vacuums with the sprayer and rotating brushes on the handheld extension. Just took a while and lots of cleaning solution/water.

Are you still available for exterior detailing? Just bought a 2007 Subaru WRX TR and finish is rougher than I imagine it should be. Could be in need of good buffing or even some wet sanding. Few scuff marks on passenger side that likely will buff out too. Please contact me if you can take a look.

Wondering if you are still detailing?

Just bought a 2012 Obsidian Sti hatch that the previous owner tried to destroy the paint.
Would like to see what you can do with it.

@idget are you still doing detailing? I have a 2012 STI DGM that sat on the dealer lot for five weeks while getting the short block replaced. The deposits on my paint are absolutely impossible for me to get out. And I am sick of trying :) If you are still detailing I would like to find out more about your work!
