So, i may have a problem. I heard a clunk, followed by some other noises.... Can you tell me what it is? Pic is sideways fwiw.
It's most likely the sound of massive amounts of salt eating your car....... I would wash it and your issue should go away.
Your lower A-arm rusted through and broke? Check into the TSB/Recall at your local dealer to get it repaired.
It's at Morries on the rack as we speak, er type! I took it in forever ago for the recall but the list was nearly a year long. A-arms are covered under the recall. Just not sure about the collateral damages of said control arm as of yet. Hopefully SOA will take care of it since it was due to the recall . *fingers and eyes crossed*
Hopefully they do cover the collateral damages. They should considering you've done your part as the consumer and brought it in long ago for a recall and they made you wait a long time. Not good time/resource management on Subaru's part, in my eyes. but then again, it's a lot of cars that are under this recall.
Agreed, there are alot of models that fell under the recall, so it's hard to blame the dealership for the delay. They said that it's the first that they have seen as far as "total failure goes". I'm just counting my blessings because it happened in a parking lot at 3-4mph instead of at 60mph on the highway! God is good!!
More blessings to report! SOA is covering the entire bill for all damages including collateral! Woooooopah!
Uh, they ****ing better be. If that **** had happened on the freeway, it could have killed you. I'd be telling subaru that it would be prudent of them to make sure EVERYTHING under your car was in perfect shape.
They did! Replaced a ton of stuff on the passenger side that was damaged. The driver side got a new control arm. Body work getting done on the passenger fender this week. Mike in service at Morries Minnetonka has been great to work with and has exceeded my expectations thus far. MMS has always been my go to dealership, and always will be! "Big ups" to Morries!!!
I just noticed mine has rusted through. It hasn't broke off yet but I am not driving the car till I can contact corporate office regarding the replacement of the LCA and sub frame. Hopefully they will see it was faulty even though it was found OK when I brought it in for the recall.
^ you are in trouble if you are having problems that old members have had, though I applaud you for searching.. hehe I do not think there is any solution in this thread other than "have Morrie's check it out" tho
Have tangledupinblu take some sh!tty pics of your car. Wash it eight times. Five gallons of gas and a road flare. Get back to us.
